BC for Vista / Kingdoms / Steam?
Will BC ever support this setup? I have always wanted to try this mod.

I'm not sure what you need steam for -- I have vista and kingdoms and play BC 2.02 just fine. I have steam too, you had to get it with Empire. I've since disallowed the pos program from running on my computer in any way.

Why is it that, Steam, an application created for games, seems to only hamper your ability to play them?
Throw it out!

Re: BC for Vista / Kingdoms / Steam?
Sir,
In defence of Steam I must state that I have many mods installed to Steam and it works without any issues. Also if I want a clean install to put a new mod on I only have to validate my game software through Steam (takes five minutes) and it becomes a clean install ready for a new mod. I absolutely hate disks; it is not 21st century technology and I find the reliability and durability of the Steam method most conducive to the number and variety of mods on my system. Yes it can be difficult installing a mod to Steam but if you read my method and pay attention to some of the salient details (such as file structure) then you should have no problems and also a disk free gaming experience.
Yours Respectfully,
GGM

Re: BC for Vista / Kingdoms / Steam?
I appreciate your position, and see your point about the benefits - say selling points. They just never worked out that well for me, and I don't need a program telling me when I can and cannot play a game. I live in the most densely populated area of the US and the internet isn't blazing fast here thanks to a decade of infrastructure neglect and ISP monopolies.
It rarely took me only 5 minutes to get around whatever Steam was demanding of me before I could play APE:TI (mod for ETW). Other changes such as the game no longer storing screen shots and idiotic things like that turned me off real fast to steam. In any case the whole system is set up to nickel and dime you into spending a heap of money on micro transactions.
On a positive note, I am a huge fan of, and play BC now partially as a result of rejecting Steam.... I went out and bought some good old disks - for MTW2 and immediately downloaded BC 2.0

Re: BC for Vista / Kingdoms / Steam?
Yes, quite right, quite right... I must say however,
You know you can go to offline mode on Steam, which bypasses the need to be connected to the internet, and Steam does have a tga file, where I keep all my screenshots from Empire. You're right, Steam is rather Heath Robinson, but once you get used to it, it’s like an Old English Sheep Dog, if a bit shabby, slightly smelly, somewhat lazy, but ultimately quite loveable.

Sorry for the ignorant question, but what exactly is "Steam"?
