I'm taking it you've installed 3.0 without 4.2
If this is the case- 4.2 is your answer

He most likely has 4.2 which includes the display fix but as i am already guessing he is using vista or win7 with UAC still turned on which will then yet again hide the display fix files.

UAC is really a curse when it comes to modders and it is just a saftey program of the new OS's to prevent well people killing the core files but hello when we mod when need to mod core files

SF is right here UAC is indeed pain in the ass. The thing is with UAC enabled and without admin powers then files that should be overwritten by a mod installer or placed in Primary Partition doesn't happens and these files go in the Virtual Store instead.
So when using windows 7 or Vista make sure that you have admin powers for the Medieval 2 folder and UAC is disabled via control panel.

as Gigantus has taught me turn uac off! & just install to another location example:
c:\games\medievalII
