I`d need to see your textures and models to get a good idea on the units you`ve posted so far, but based on what you`ve said is original and as much as I can figure myself I`d say you`re on a very good path. The very fact that you`re trying to make things on your own and not just reassemble other people`s units is the right way to go to get to be a name in the field. But of course to get very good you need time. I`ve been around enough to see people like tone(I remember when he couldn`t model and was looking for someone to edit 3 or so units for rs), Publius and even Caius progressing from vanilla based stuff to original creations and it took them at least a year to develop a style and from then on to get really good. Given the darth of artists in the rtw section and the fact that rtw seems more forgiving in terms of graphics I`d say you`d be better off staying on this platform for a while. There are plenty mods that can`t find someone to make that handful of units that would make them complete.

My point was you`re showing signs of developing into one of those very few that are truly good gfx people who have made a distinctive and huge contribution to the rtw community(the ones we do continue to remember even though hundreds of people have edited a texture at one point or another). Concentrating on what I may seem to let slip of not being there yet is reading the wrong part of my statement. Don`t mind any subsequent trolling.

How big is the model though? If it`s not that big I know there`s a procedure(inverting the model part or something along these lines) that would basically make the inner side of the helmet to be mapped too instead of invisible so that you can`t see through its interior. We had this done to the hat of the sassanian elephant crew in FoR. Obviously this adds to the overall model size so is mainly worth doing for units that stand high like elephant crew and cavalrymen as for the rest it would only become obvious in normal game play if they`re on a wall or on a slope.
As for the project as a whole. Is your goal simply to replace the vanilla units or also add to them? Because I was thinking there are very few tarentines(I mean the style of fighting, not the nationality) cavalry units around the community despite the fact that for rtw`s timeframe they were some of the most important mercenaries in the hellenistic world.
I'm open to suggestions, if you provide me sources like equipment, pictures, you know. The procedure is to clone the helmet and flip the clone's polygons then attach it to the helmet, isn't it? I will see the model's size...

I believe so, but that`s trying to remember the description by other people. I couldn`t personally tell you any technical detail without asking someone else.
