Need Help!! Weird Problem!

Hi guys,

I've been playing as France, i'm in year 1348, so I've done a good 300+ turns however today I decided to load my game after a week of not playing. For some reason The campaign map is all messed up, when I start a new campaign it is also messed up looking.

Has anyone had similar problems like this? I don't recall changing anything. (This only happens with Deus Lo Vult) other mods and campaigns seem fine.

If anyone knows what's causing this it would be much appreciated... I really want to continue this campaign... already got a good generation of Capetian Kings (Had to do a lot of murder and incest to keep it a clean line ).

that happened to me once. don't remeber exactly how i fixed it though

theres nothing wrong with DLV its a vanilla problem

Did you reinstall medieval total war?

i think you dont have patch 1.5 installed. try reinstalling the patch and see if that works

Have you by any chance unpacked any kingdoms expansion campaigns?
Anyways it's UI crap up i think if you have original .sd files(from unpacked vanilla)then replace them in the UI folder of DLV and try then hopefully it will get fixed.

Try this:

In the Data/UI rename these three files:
strategy.sd
battle.sd
shared.sd

to:
strategy.bak
battle.bak
shared.bak

Ok I changed all 3 files to bak files.. it fixed it however there are some problems with the faction banners.

I only see numbers for the banners of Desert Tribes, Norway, Independant, etc. Anyway to fix this?

That's a mod related problem alright probably some fix for it not installed in the DLV folder.
Wait for some DLV guy to respond.

This is really really weird, I never altered my files or anything and all of a sudden this happened hmm..

Everything is fine now, I can see the enemy banners on the campaign map.

Its just when i click diplomacy there's a bunch of 1's for the new factions. Being the perfectionist that I am, I'm hoping someone knows how to fix this. Maybe replace some files?

Woo got the problem fixed... Found a 2 year old post on the same issue.

Hi, thank you for your fast reply.
First I tried to put them into
C:\Program Files \Sega\Medieval II Total War\data\ui
nothing (I had to create the last two directories)
second I replaced the same files in
D:\Games\Medieval Total War II\mods\DLV_ext\data\UI
nothing happened
third I put them into
D:\Games\Medieval Total War II\data\ui
Victory!!! (I had to create the UI directory)

Though i think it won't happen if those files are in .tga format as kingdoms can read them directly without using .dds type.
