Win 7 RTW crashes to deskstop on start (sometimes)

I have a new 64 bit win7 computer, and decided it install RTW.

I've played it without problem on my 64 bit Vista laptop.

So I installed it, the game loaded up and all was fine.

I tried to run it again it starts to load, seems to try to switch to the title screen and then closes the window. It doesn't really crash, it just stays minimized and I can't open it without it minimizing itself.

So I reinstalled it thinking maybe it was the mod I used, and it loaded again.

Tried to restart it (no mod) and poof.

So I reinstalled for a third time and it loaded up 3 times without a problem. Now 10 hours later, its doing the same thing.

Any ideas?

(Yes its run as administrator, and when I run in XP mode or any other mode it gives me the 'RTW has stopped working' message.)

Decided to just 'wait' and see what happens, and I turned off movies in the command line.

So it still minimizes, but then if I give it about a minute I can maximize it to the game and it appears to be working.

Did you click on the RTW icon on the taskbar? This game is old enough mine hangs there at times.

Have you tried XP SP3 Compatibility mode?

Yes and it seem rather completely random. It was working fine and now its back to its old shenanigans.

Are you patched to RTW 1.5/BI1.6? Do you have any mods installed?
