Default My widower king had a son?

Playing SS 6.3. Emperor Heinrich is a widower but he just had a son...

One might argue that he's a bastard, but I don't think the game allows for such occurences. If it did, unmarried men could also have children, but I've never seen it happen. The other possibility is that the game isn't registering that Bertrada is dead, maybe because she begins the game already dead. Weird, in any case. Unless it's something with the mod?

did she die the same turn the boy was born? maybe died during childbirth
What makes a real American? A cowboy hat? Enjoying a fine T-bone
steak? Going to a baseball game? Shooting a gun? Maybe it’s the freedom to go
into a poor country and tell them how to do things?! Heh! Those are all great
qualities! But one thing that makes a true patriot is the ability to choose
an American car! When you buy an import you take a hot meal off a hard
working American’s table. There, there! This poor girl is going
to starve to death, just because you bought a cheaper, more efficient
Maibazu. Without gross symbols of excess, what will Americans have to look up
to? Our great industries is a threaten! Cars, pornography, armaments! And
they need your help! So the next time you buy a car, a piece of adult
literature or a missile defense system! Make sure you do the American thing!

There is nothing wrong with the mod it happens in vanilla and kingdoms too and is a infamous glitch.
And the bastard thing i never looked it that way and now you have said it next it won't bug as a glitch but rather as cool.
If you know konny(dhhr) then ask him about it he knows about this sort of stuff more and might be able to give you a more reasonable answer.

I guess by the look of your family tree that it's the start of the campaign. So maybe he's in to simulate the ruling family at the time? I mean, all ruling families start historicaly accurate (in theory).

Started an Early campaign yesterday as the Crusader States... My married Heir produced 1 daughter after 20 turns... my king produced 2 daughters and 1 son despite his wife being dead since 1099. I started making jokes to myself like "She must have had the God-like FERTILE trait" and the king "Necrophiliac trait"

So it is probably a bug. The game considers dead wives fertile as long as the general is alive.

Yeah, it's funny in a really creepy way... like when a clown dies a gruesome death

Not as odd as in my Crusader States campiagn where my starting king's wife is dead and he had about 3 sons(without the bastard trait) and 2 daughters. Then his cousin (The CS starting Prince) Has a son and he has the bastard trait
