    Default Launcher is confusing me

The explanation of the launcher in the RSII Release thread left me as confused as I was before I read it. This is my first time playing Roma Surrectum. What does 'Battles Only' mean? Does it mean im only going to fight battles in my campaign, and nothing else? Are one-turn campaigns games in which I can do one-turn recruitment? Do I have to select my desired faction in the launcher? Whats different about the different game engines for RTW, BI, and Alexander? What does delete map.rwm do?

Also, this is a stupid question, but I can't seem to do it for the life of me
For zero-turn recruitment, do i have to edit the recruitment time of EACH unit?

Sorry for the myriad of questions, but im quite lost >< lol

EDIT: Does post-marian reform general mean that I start out with a stronger general? Or that all factions start out with stronger generals?

EDIT: One more thing, sorry. I changed the pirate and brigand spawn value in C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly II\Rome - Total War to 9999. But then, i went to
C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly II\Play_Rome the pirate and brigand spawn values were 40 and 30. I changed these to 9999 also. Will this make it so that rebels dont spawn? Asides from the 2 major rebellions?

    Hi

Battles only means no campaign, literally historic and custom battles only.
Yep, and zero turn are zero turn recruitment
You do, each faction is a mod on its own, and rs2 loads each from the mod folder
Urm alex and bi are the expansions, each has its own pros and cons, and rs2 works with all.
delete map.rwm deletes settings stored by rtw on your game. Its best used each time you load the mod (or if you make alterations to the mod yourself)

    Hope that helps

If you select battle only, you'll only be able to fight custom or historical battles, there are no campaigns available.

RS II is made to be play in 0-turn. This mean that when you want to play as rome, and select rome from the launcher, you'll have a 0 turn recruitment. However, there is also an option to be campaign with one turn recruitment. To do so, you have to select one turn from the launcher, and then select the faction you want to play just like in RTW in the menu screen.

Whats different about the different game engines for RTW, BI, and Alexander?
What you select is which exe is going to be started. So if you have the RTW CD in the computer, you'll want to select RTW, if it is BI, then BI, and so on. For the difference between each exe, a small search on the forum will give you all the informations you need.

    What does delete map.rwm do?
We use it during development, because we have to delete this file when doing changes generally. It is of no use to you if you just play.

For zero-turn recruitment, do i have to edit the recruitment time of EACH unit?
As I answered above, it's included.

Does post-marian reform general mean that I start out with a stronger general? Or that all factions start out with stronger generals?
It just allows you to play with post-marian roman general in custom battle, it doesn't affect the stats in campaign.

I hope now that it is clearer.

Thanks! Very helpful. Ignore the 2nd edit. That has given rise to another issue, which I have already mentioned in another technical help thread. A lot clearer now
