Default Can this get me "Man of the Hour" events?

So, I'm looking to add family members and want to adopt someone.

Can I separate my general from my army then attack an enemy with my army, allow my general to join as a reinforcements under my control, then win an amazing victory and adopt the captain of the army in a possible "Man of the Hour" event?

When the general joins as a reinforcement, do his bonuses apply to my army?
Will this even work or will the family member/general get credit instead of the captain?

Yes that will work but keep in my mind your BOP ratio should be less.

No they don't count a simple proof of that will be that you can't use the night attacker capability of a general if using him as a reinforcement.

What does BOP stand for? I can guess that it basically means have a good kill/death ratio, right?

Yeah but it's still useful coz it's a tank unit i tell you.
U can use his rally command. It has 2 hitpoints and has powerful stats so such a unit in battle can really help if used effectively.

Sorry for not explaining it right it's called Balance of Power that we see when we are about to enter the battlefield.

But there's no point of him coming as reinforcements, as that would probably only get him killed

Some of the ideas seem plausable BUT the only real consideration for getting adoptions is the general to town ratio IE have much more towns than generals and you will be flooded with offers, forget winning heroic victories with a captain its a red herring

That is correct then all you need is clear victory.

For a man of the hour ...maybe but no heroic victory is needed + if you have a good enough town to general ratio you should be getting adoption offers anyway + remember with an adoption offer the potential new general is sponsored by an existing general and will spawn in the same town as the sponsoring general if you accept

But, if I get "man of the hour" he will be part of that army he won in, correct? That way, I can get another general way off in the holy land where I seriously lack family members and it would take a while to ship someone over there. I'd be kind of disappointed if he showed up in my capital.

That's correct random adoptions give the general in the settlement where his adopter resides and adds him to his family tree as well.

Yes if you get the man of hour event when fighting a field battle with that army then that new general becomes a part of that army and pops up there on the actual position of the army not in the capital.

Generals(comes of age) and princesses goes in the capital when the father himself in on field and not residing in a settlement if i remember correctly.
