    Default Selecting units in settlements

Hello, this is my first post on the forum and i'm also new to medieval 2 total war and i just started to play the game. This is probably a noobie question that should be somewhere else but here it goes:If i have, let's say,20 units in a castle, and i want to select all of them to attack a nearby town/castle.Is there a way to select all those 20 units at the same time?Because i had to move 1 unit out of the city/castle they were in and send the remaining others 1 by 1 to join the unit that was waiting outside and if i would happen to have an army of 20 units,it would take like 10 minutes to get the job done.

    • You can use the Shift key to select a series of adjacent units. (Like in Windows Explorer.)
    • You can use the Ctrl key to select multiple units. (Like in Windows Explorer.)
    • When moving units, a single right-click sets the destination and the game will show the animation of walking to it.
    • When moving units, double right-click will fast forward the walking animation.
    • When moving units, if your unit was walking normally, you can right click once again to fast forward the animation.
    • When your turn has ended and the computer starts to move their units, you can right click to hasten individual movement or hit space bar to hasten all computer movements. You may also turn the "View AI movement" feature off in the options if you want.

I forgot to mention, when walking, you can hit Backspace to cancel the order. Your unit will stop were he or she currently is. Can be useful sometimes.

To select all units at the same time press ctrl + A.
If you selected all units but want to deselect some press and hold ctrl and then click on the units you'd like to deselect.

To select all units of the same type hold ctrl + double click (using the left mouse button) a desired unit.

To select random units hold ctrl + click on those units.

PS: Thanks for the info on backspace, painter. Rep for that.

That's why i strongly suggest that people shouldn't turn off the advisor. Lady Gwendolyn tells you such stuff. She is smart.
