Default Balrog and Sauron - fighting each other - possible answer

I believe I may have solved the problem where sauron and the balrog run in circles when fighting each other. While testing for my new mod, I tried to have 1 elephant per unit units fight each other, and they did run circles around each other.

However, by changing the scaling factor in their skeletons, which were just copied entries of the standard fs_african_elephant entry in descr_skeleton, to different amounts from one another, they do not run in circles, and they fight. I think sauron and balrog use custom skeletons, but i think the same principle might be able to be applied with them, by scaling one of their skeletons by 0.99 or something and leaving the other one as is. Just my thoughts.

Video uploaded. I know there is a guy on the yellow dinosaur because i just gave the dinosaur except with a diff skeleton scaling factor to the knights as well to show two 1 elephant per unit units fighting each other. The text isn't finished either or the dino sounds, and theres some other problems. But this shows the principle of the 1v1 thing.

Scaling down the animations also slows the speed and increases attack rate, which can be very hard to balance. You can increase their speed after scaling down the animations, if you scale them down a lot you have too because they will be really slow. This doesn't balance them much though as they still attack really fast. Plus there is the whole radius thing...

Also you can just lower their speed instead of scaling down the animations, that should help with the circling problem too and keep the original balance. I had to get around this stuff when making my units and balancing scaled units is no fun, and scaling them to balance them often made things worse.

    Good luck with your project.

Well since its only scaling by a miniscule amount, it shouldn't make that much of a difference, and it'll hopefully solve the sauron v balrog problem
