    Default What is BI problem?

Ok this getting on my nerves. I always loved total war saga, but the last expansion was very laggy on my conputer. So i invested 2200$ in a newone because the old one was well old. Here are the specifications of my computer : 3.4 Ghz processor, 2.2 GB of RAM, 120 GB of Hard Drive, GeForce 7800 GT video card and still i'm experiencing lag when doing night battles. Any thaught cause i'm desperate

    Is it laggy with 1.6?

yes i installed 1.5 on my RTW and 1.6 on BI. The RTW is working like charm with 6000 man battles and every settings set to highest but BI lags on some of the settings set to medium. I really don't understand what is happening. My new computer should easily play this game.

    Settings on medium?

Well, if the night battles are giving you trouble, turn off shadows for one thing... you don't need 'em. You could turn down the overall unit, effect, and terrain detail... though I recommend not doing this as the game looks like crap when you do...

try changing the resolution maybe. And don't for get to get rid of the shadows! It's night, for goodness sake - they really don't mkae too much of a difference.

Of course, if the shadows are already gone, I don't know what you can do.

i don't understand as RTW has shadows but i runs smoothly. So it's not them. Man i wish some of the developers were visiting this forum.

You shouldn't have 1.5 AND 1.6. You should have a clean RTW install, then a clean BI install, then 1.6 and that's it.

make sure you have UNIT_SHADERS turned on!

if its off, it makes it lag out the ass on BI

Wait... we shouldn't get 1.5 and 1.6? I have 1.5 and both games seem to go fine for me.

i have a similar problem. i havea very capable machine but for some reason battles are going ultra fast as if i was playing the entire battle on increased speed. Ive tried everything to slow it down but it makes small battles unplayable just becasue of the speed.

anyone got any ideas or hints so i can make it go at normal speed.

    This doesn't happen in R:TW

hawkmoth, do you have an AMD dual core? If so, you will have to go to the Task Manager and set the Affinity for RTW to use only one CPU (just uncheck one of the CPU settings). This is what I had to do to resolve my high speed issue. You may also want to check the AMD web site to see if they have a patch to resolve this issue (assuming you are using an AMD processor of course).
