Pulling the plug?

How can you tell if people pulled the plug or simply dropped?

I "ONLY" drop either at the beginning or middle of a match. I have updated my AMD Video Drivers through steam to prevent any drops and I haven't had any at all and if it keeps automatically updating on it's own every time I start up steam, then I believe I will never drop ever.

I faced an opponent recently and he only had 3-4 units left and then it gets laggy and the pop up comes up saying to me "You Dropped" but I didn't drop because my movements weren't laggy. I have the live recording.

i had 2 drops yesterday, steam worked fine i could still talk to my opponent even while my game was frozen and my internet wasnt a problem. Also the game didnt ctd so yeah, the only explanation i can think of is that its similar to the no response from host issue.

yea but pm updating your graphics drivers is only going to 'maybe' prevent ctd's. not to mention the more common types of disconnects. plus amd only release new drivers once per month so updating every time you start steam is not going to do anything most of the time.

to drops? i have no idea. but updating my graphics drivers is something i used to do anyway through the amd website. but that does not effect dropping due to steam/internet disconnects.

i can tell when some pulls the plug - they usually kite for 20 mins and just as their last unit goes below 60 men - the game drops.

i remember when i use to pull the plug - every game played against pointman - god damn i wont let him embarrass me on his vids - and commenting that my attack is gay and i should use more cav.

I get drops near the end of games as well, I had one the other day infact There's a lot that can do it that you won't control; game / pc crashing, steam bugging out or disconnecting, internet dying / bugging out etc.

If I do drop near the end -- especially when it looks like things weren't going my way I add the guy on steam to say sorry and let him know I didn't do that on purpose lol. It doesn't happen often, but drops usually come when you least want them!

...Sometimes people are dicks though. Like term says, they usually play like an ass before they pull the plug too!

best way to tell is not how they drop, but what they were doing before. ie if they were on an even footing with you, its likely to be accidental.if they were being pwned, chances are its on purpose, while if they were in a maybe tricky position, but not unrecoverable, i would give them benefit of the doubt.

next game - guy mystic hero from that well known clan UNRM host a ranked 1v1 goes otto so i go myy any otto build and you wouldnt believe it he had 2 depleted units left and i had 14 units still and then a freeze and it said i dropped

did you ask him whether it was an accident afterwards thru steam?sounds suspicous to me, especially seeing as it was ranked....

I get dropped every now and than.. But it never says "you were dropped" it says "NTW has stopped working" maybe i lag out? but i wasn't lagging at all.. I know my video card can handle it.. But i refuse to update it because certain geforce cards conflict with Arma2 after certain updates.

in your case, its just the game crashing.which is probably driver related, but as you say, i guess Arma2 only likes certain drivers.

hamachi only really works for set up games.

Just don't accuse people of pulling plug unless they say they have... You cannot tell whether they have or not.

Also, it will randomly crash because of random events in game. It is hard to explain but it has little to do with your graphics card.

ofc people wont usually admit it but anyone with any real respect will and if they don't than they either did it or didnt, you will never know even if you accuse them so what's the point? just get over it and play the game is my answer to that.

droppers shall move hell...nearly every 3 ranked game (and this is not overacted) i played my opponents drop...and the weirdest part about it is that u are sometimes the one to lose points ?! i m still nto looking through that system coz sometimes u jsut lose points although it was ure opponent who dropped...sucks so much

Everyone knows that the ranked system is broken already, it has been broken since ETW and it is still broken. TBH i dont understand the point of meaningless scores for our games anyways. OH I HAVE A HIGHER SCORE THAN YOU IMA BEAT YOU! If it had a ladder, I might care but it is just a half-assed ranked system. i would be more mad if they added a ladder.
