    Default Corrupt game files?

I have been experiencing some problems recently with my copy of Rome total war.

I downloaded TATW mod for M2TW the other day and since then everything has gone wrong.
All my TW games worked fine except they seemed to be stuck in a widescreen mode that made all the units look fat and made all the unit and picture cards pixelated (spelling?) which really got on my nerves.

And before you ask yes widescreen mode was turned off in game and it wasn't on in the preferences file

I decided to completely get rid of M2TW of my machine so i uninstalled and then deleted the Sega file from all programs.
However my RTW files seem to have been effected by the mod seeing as whenever i changed graphics settings on TATW the corresponding settings on RTW would also change. Also on RTW i have started to get random white lines/cracks appearing on the screen while running.

i then uninstalled rome and deleted all known files associated with it from the system and reinstalled only to find that when i open the file source after i run the cd i find some M2TW data in that aswell which is screwing around.

I really hope its not a virus or something (i have no idea when it comes to this sort of thing)

To top it all off the game is STILL stuck in widescreen which was the reason for all this hastle
If anyone can give me any feedback at all i would be very grateful as this is seriously getting on my nerves and i can do with getting it fixed.

When you uninstalled Rome and Medieval2, and deleted the files and folders, did you run a registry cleaner and reboot before reinstalling?

No i didn't. i wasn't really sure what to do tbh cause this has never happened to me before.
Im inclined to believe that this may have something to do with my ATI graphics drivers as i recently updated them and they have been known to cause a few problems.

I was also told something about aspect ratio if anyone would care to explain that to me

All i want is those two little black borders on each side of the screen to make the game not look stretched without having to change my screen resolution for every game i have.

EDIT: The weird white line/cracks in the screen has stopped for now so im just concentrating on getting the ratio back to normal.

Open it, go through the menues and see if it set widescreen on you. There is that chance.

I cant find any widescreen options on my ccc. MY ccc seems to look completely different to all the other images ive seen and it has very little options.

Also i checked my drivers and apparently i cant roll back to a previous version........

To roll back to an earlier version, check Device Manager. Once in a while it works.

If you still have a copy of your previous drivers that worked, uninstall these, run driver sweeper in safe mode, and reinstall the old ones.
