Colored squares in middle of screen

Can anyone enlighten me as to what causes the below - 2 squares slap bang in the middle of the screen. It only happens if I select to fight with Ottomans:

Are they the Ottoman's colors? It's been too long since I have seen that in a game. Have you tried different graphics settings?

No, just saw it while testing a flag for Ottomans. Otherwise no problems. It only happens when I play as Ottomans in a custom battle - I have not tried campaign as I don't play that side.

No haven't told the forums. Just wondered if anyone here knew what it was

It could be the flag causing it then.

Go to C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Napoleon

And delete the folder fx cache, see if that fixes it.
