I've added a Templar Grandmaster ancillary to Stainless Steel 6.3(which was curiously absent from export_descr_ancillaries despite there being entries for it left in the export_ancillaries.txt), and it works fine and everything(which isn't surprising seeing as how it's basically a copy-paste-rename of the Hospitaller Grandmaster ancillary and its corresponding trigger).
BUT, it seems to screw up all the regional title ancillaries.
Upon loading up my Crusader States campaign(I'm at turn 81 in case that's relevant) my King in Jerusalem now holds the "Duke of Iraklion" ancillary, whereas loading it with an unmodified export_descr_ancillaries he has the "King of Jerusalem" ancillary like he should. The same thing has happened to all my generals with regional ancillaries(Damietta's governor now has Cairo's trait, Alexandria's now has Tripoli's ect.).
However moving these ancillaries to another general allows them to regain the proper one through normal game means(i.e. I gave the "DoI" to another general and the next turn my King was rewarded the "KoJ" one he should have had), but I'm worried that this means that every general in the game is going to have messed up regional title ancillaries until the current generation is dead. It'd be nice to not have to worry about the immersion breaking experiance of running into a Scottish general who's the "Emperor of Constantinople".
Now when I start a new game everything works fine(probably because nobody starts with any ancillaries) but I'm wondering if there is something I can do to make it compatible with my saved game without add_ancillary-ing everything in the world?
