I'll miss Two-Face. Aaron Eckhart did a wonderful job, even if Heath Ledger overshadowed him. I don't think any of the more "fantastic" villains will be in it, like Bane or Poison Ivy. But the Riddler would've been a good choice since he's obsessive-compulsive and... well, really arrogant.
Thank god for the 3D rejection though. Hopefully it's going to die out sooner rather than later. One thing that bugs me in the new Batman films is how loud the effects are compared to the dialogue, especially on DVD/Blu-Ray. I have to turn up the volume nearly to the max and just bare the huge explosions that shake the room.
This, 1000 times this. My dad is near deaf, he couldn't understand a single word that was said, especially when Bale did his "batman voice."
Anyhoo, I'm a little disappointed they didn't go with the Riddler (and more than I little surprised, since he's one of the more famous villains), but I'm sure Nolan will make another solid film no matter who the character.

I'm so thankful Nolan isn't using 3D technology either. He understands that it's more of a money-grabber instead of a technology that actually makes movies look better. It's just like kids these days that don't like black and white movies. I hope to Jupiter that it doesn't get to a point where kids won't want to see non-3D movies because they're not "cool"...

I wouldn't mind a properly done Bane: ruthless, intelligent and physically more than match for Batman.
Some day I'll actually write all the reviews I keep promising...
Being a huge fan of the series (I've watched Batman Begins and The Dark Knight like at least 20 times each, no lying), I have to say that I'm disappointed and happy.
Firstly, the name is pretty cheesy, since it's so much like the second.
The Riddler is my main villain, so it kind of sucks that he won't be in it, though I already guessed this since they pretty much incorporated the riddles with the Joker.
I personally believe that the Penguin will be the main villain. Both the other movies have involved a lot of mafia members, who else would be better than the Penguin? Plus, he can easily be made realistic, like they want the movies to be.
The past movies have had two main villains. Raz'Al'Ghul/Scarecrow and Joker/Two-Face. I'd guess the third will follow this. I think Bane would be a good second villain, though a lot could fit. The Penguin could have Bane broken out of jail in return for him following orders, or something like that.
And thirdly, I hate 3-D, I'm glad a movie isn't having it.
Ugh, Penguin was always my least favorite Batman villain. He was just creepy and annoying with the only real threat from him was his stupid umbrellas. And Bane wouldn't work too well, since his power is dependent on a super chemical that magically makes him larger and stronger.
Ledger did a wonderful job at portraying the Joker as truly enigmatic. That's what I love most about his performance. But Eckhart's role as Two-Face made him less like the campy crime boss like Tommy Lee Jones' portrayal, and more like the psychologically broken man obsessed with his own loss he should be.
Caped Crusader and the World's Greatest Detective. He doesn't have a lot of other [good] nicknames.

I agree that Eckhart did an excellent job as Two-Face, and every subsequent viewing of the Dark Knight has me liking his character more than Ledger's.
I do hope they change the name. What's another alias for the Batman? Should have that and then 'Rising' instead of 'The Dark Knight' again. Although I'm guessing it's the studio trying to capitalise on the immense success of TDK.

'Rise of the Caped Crusader?' Too cheesy?

Ιt is the most detailed and well made movie i have ever seen
and i see a lot
Eric Roberts was good at what he played the usual villain boss in Batman series
I'm confused over it's name. 'The Rise of the Dark Knight' implies that the plot will be centred around the origins of Batman, but Batman Begins covered that. Poor name in my opinion![]()
Euhm, Bane has genius level intellect.
Ugh, Batman and Robin has completelyed up how people see him.

I didn't know that either, learning something new all the time. Thanks.
Black Mask seems like a good choice for a main villain, though he's not as recognizable as some of his other foes. I'd actually like it if the Scarecrow came back as another minor villain, like in Batman Begins. I might be biased though, he's my second favorite Batman villain.
