3. Tyrell
4. Martell
5. House Umber (A house full of Chuck Norris')
1. House Bolton (flayed men have no secrets)

Why are the Targaryens so popular? Is it because they have dragons?
Unification? More like totalitarian rule through the subjugation of a whole continent by bloody conquest. The old Kingdoms lost their sovereignty and the people would suffer despotic rulers for many generations (not forgetting the mad ones too). Well, such is the nature of medieval politics I guess!
My favourite factions would be:
1) House Baratheon: Mainly for King Stannis and a little for Renly. Their customs, their culture and their agenda. (Also I really like the crowned black stagg coat of arms.)
2) House Stark: For King Robb and his companions. For their customs, their culture and their agenda. (Also for their direwolf coat of arms.)
3) House Lannister: Definately for Tyrion and also for Jaime. For their customs and culture too.
4) House Greyjoy: For their characters, their culture (which is awesome) and their golden kraken coat of arms.
5) House Tyrell: Definately for their culture and their customs alone.
I believe it was less bloody than the War Of Five Kings and War of the Usurper
I was surprised by that too. Personally I find Dany a bit annoying and that leads me to dislike them.
Mine are:
1. House Stark: As ShadowKiller said, you do have to admire Ned's sense of justice, even if his stubbornness is annoying. I also find the culture and the old gods of the North far more interesting than these nancy boy "sers" and septs in the south. Plus, "Winter is Coming" = best motto ever.
2. House Umber: They're hilarious/ridiculous.
3. House Martell: Doran's rationality is refreshing in Westeros, and Oberyn is quite the character.
4. House Mormont: Not for Jorah, he's a weirdo, but for the Old Crow; and Maege is just a ridiculous person.
5. House Tully: Mostly just because of the Blackfish.
If the Night's Watch could considering a House they'd top the list, I find their chapters to be the best. Probably in part because Jon Snow is one of my favorite characters.

True that, a man does not bleed out when engulfed in flames.
Anyway, wars should not be judged on how much blood is spilt, but why it was first spilt and what it was spilt for.
No love for House Frey?
Haha, actually I do really like the Freys...a really well written faction, although I do feel obliged to hate them.
I would be afraid if you didn't feel compelled to hate them, what they did was amazingly dishonourable
Be afraid...be very afraid
Of course I hate them in context, however I do really like them as a faction (basicly, because they're such good baddies!)
They are not baddies, they are simply, as we say in Greece,s...that , means dishonourable, backstabbing cowards.
The redfaced emoticon refers to female reproductive means.
Sorry for the bad language, it's natural when I think of the Freys. I mean no disrespect to any member of this community...
I think we have the same saying in England![]()
Haha, no need to apologise! Martin has used the word himself several times in the books. The fact that the Freys are cowardly, dishonest, backstabbing bastards makes them an excellent baddie! (Exciting to read about!)
