Widescreen res problem

Ive recently come across another problem to do with the resolution. I recently downloaded third age total war onto M2TW and now whenever i play RS2 the image looks stretched. Now the resolution had changed from what i usually use so i put the resolution back up to full but it is still looks widescreen.
All the units look slightly too fat and the picture cards for units and building have worsened in quality.
It used to run with a small black border on each side of the screen. Does anyone know how to get back to this original setting?

Have you looked in the preferences that there is USE_WIDESCREEN:FALSE? And check options if there is widescreen checked

The use_widescreen in preferences is set to false and it has not been set to widescreen in game.

This only happened after i installed TATW. maybe it conflicted somehow. i noticed that after changing my graphics settings for TATW the corresponding graphics settings of RS2 changed to exactly the same....

If they are different folders (game wise) then I don't see how that can happen.

But i was changing graphics settings in one game and then in another completely different game they changed to exactly the same settings without me doing anything....

Brusliov i think this may be another ATI driver update problem. The game only wants to run in widescreen. It doesnt happen with other TW games just rome
