Unable to install D2D Kingdoms

Hi guys,
I have been struggling with this for a while now. I tried googling the subject, did registry cleaner, re downloaded the two games from D2D, uninstalled reinstalled, renamed the medieval2.exe to launcher.exe nothing is working so far.

I have Medieval2 from D2D already patched to 1.3, i can play the game no problem and it's installed on the D: drive (not the OS default). When i install Kingdoms i downloaded from D2D i get this error message *see attached file*.

Please help.

The old dvd way is install Medieval2, and install Kingdoms right behind as it has the patches on it. Maybe it works the same way.

If you have Vista or 7, disable the UAC, log in as Administrator, then try it.

If these fail, contact Direct2Drive. I know nothing of how they handle it.

Hi and thanks for getting back to me,
I have windows 7 64 bit and UAC is already disabled. I have already tried running the setup as an administrator but to no avail.

I have emailed D2D for support, sucks they don't have a forum.

what did you mean by behind it? i installed Medieval2 first then Kingdoms? i'm

Yes. Anything else seems to foul it up.

This is step by step what I did to get mine to work:

1.) Complete uninstall

2.) Clean registry. I ran regedit after uninstalling all versions of M2TW. I looked for the SEGA registry entry and deleted it.
(1. Click START, then select RUN.
2. I type in "regedit" without the quotes. This places you in the Registry Editor. Windows XP comes with this.
3. This is the path you want to find: My Computer-> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE
4. Once found, you want to find the SEGA file folder.
5. Highlight SEGA, and hit your DELETE key.
6. Warning - deleting anything else may result in bad things happening.)

3.) Install M2TW . I did this, and did NOT run it after installation. I went directly to step 4.

4.) Install M2TW Kingdoms. It worked for me, without a hitch.
