Default the end of a great era

It was groundbreaking in its day, signifying the dawn of an age of music on the move.
But in the digital era the Sony Walkman cassette player has become a technological relic. Now it is disappearing from the shops altogether in Japan after production of the machine was halted.
The Walkman was revolutionary when launched in 1979. Apart from transistor radios, portable music was non-existent. More than 200 million went on to be sold worldwide.
Sometimes the music turned warbly; sometimes users needed pens to disentangle chewed up tape. But plenty of people found their ancient Walkmans were more robust than many of today’s machines.
Aficionados need not completely despair. Sony is to continue some production of the cassette Walkman in China.
    sad news ...
now, probably the best portable device for music that ever existed will be finished

do you guys, walking with your mp3 remind the quality difference between nowadays stuff, and magnetic bands ?

    no comparison

    mp3s killed the music IMO

ok it was not very confortable, but still, the quality was another thing

    How did MP3's kill music...?
"I pray Heaven to bestow the best of blessings on this house and all that shall hereafter inhabit it. May none but honest and wise men ever rule under this roof."

Cassettes were a nightmare. I can't believe anyone would miss them.
