Yet, when someone attacks the US and an American whines we get called nationalistic humorless bastards. Cmon, take a joke.

    Oh, Canada...

You're offended by this one episode? Have you seen how the CBC portrays the US? Do you think we appreciate that?

The only thing that has spoiled our relationship, IMO, is the hard turn to the left Canada's government has recently taken, and all the bad mouthing I've been hearing from up North on the CBC. Americans have always loved their northern brothers, but we can only take insults for so long.

I'm from Montana and have plenty of friends from British Columbia. They usually assure me that most of the bad blood for the USA comes from the East and most in the West get along fine with their southern brothers.

    I know we do.

There's no reason for the bad bloood, but let me ask you this....why do you all hate us so much, all of a sudden?

Funny ... up in Canada we say that America has taken a hard turn to the right, and there has been a lot of bad-mouthing of Canada from the US. And in our case, we can back up the claim that it is serious rather than humourous, and often extends to outright slander. A lot of the things I've seen American politicians saying about the Canadian health care system are outright falsehoods.

    George W. Bush.

Actually, that's an oversimplification, but it does identify the heart of the matter: there is a certain social movement within the US that is exemplified by George W. Bush and which is at odds with the way most Canadians feel the world should be headed. That is not to say that Canadians hate all Americans, but they seriously dislike this movement, and the people within this movement have been bashing Canada for quite a while, since well before the recent disagreements. After all, they feel the same way about us: we're legalizing gay marriage, re-affirming our commitment to national healthcare and separation of church and state, etc. We're headed in what they feel is the "wrong" direction, although ours happens to fall in line with human rights rather than religious beliefs, and I happen to prefer the former.

Darth, many many Americans also feel lik what you just described. About half last time I heard. Half of all americans, if not more now....that isnt nothing. Half of all americans has got to be...population wise, as large as some small countries. Thats how many people disagree with Bush and dislike him, or his policies. A small country, right here in our very own borders. I think that sums it up pretty well. Very, very many Americans are also angered by this "movement to the right" that you speak of. I say, wait till the election of 2008. I think everyone can judge then, based off of who we elect for president. It'll be indicitave of how the american people feel over what has occured since the year 2000, and what direction the national mindset has shifted to as a result.

What? there is not joke here. This is an attack, not on just Canada as a government, not Canada as a Country, but all those things plus, the Canadian people.

CARLSON: First of all, anybody with any ambition at all, or intelligence, has left Canada and is now living in New York.

Second, anybody who sides with Canada internationally in a debate between the U.S. and Canada, say, Belgium, is somebody whose opinion we shouldn‘t care about in the first place.

Third, Canada is a sweet country. It is like your retarded cousin you see at Thanksgiving and sort of pat him on the head. You know, he‘s nice, but you don‘t take him seriously. That is Canada.

KELLERMAN: No, you don‘t. You don‘t. But what if the rest of the family does? In other words, yes, the United States can rely on...

    CARLSON: That‘s their problem.

KELLERMAN: ... England, Australia, Israel, a few staunch, important allies internationally. But we have lost a lot of international support.

And Canada, by others in the global family, is, for some reason, taken seriously. They have about 30 million people. They have some natural resources.

CARLSON: Oh. They have dogsleds and trees, and that‘s it.

    KELLERMAN: And comedians.

    CARLSON: Look, I like Canada.

    KELLERMAN: Tucker, they have comedians.

CARLSON: Every single comedian in Canada is now living in the United States.

    KELLERMAN: Well, that‘s true.

CARLSON: Every one of them. They sneak over the border and live among us unseen. It‘s actually kind of scary.

Tigran just look at the upside, no one gives a crap about Tucker Carlson nor take him seriously.
And you honestly shouldn't either, it's not like he organized a rally with people chanting "Death to Canada" and then burned Canadian Flags so I don't know why this would anger anybody if it's from some prick who wears a bow tie.

I love how we always get Canadians and Europeans that start insulting America and calling them intolerant and such, and then call us all rednecks and hicks...

To be frank, WE DON'T LIKE YOU. We see the U.S.A as a drunk older guy who hasnt finished highschool, but still visits the highschool to pick girls up without succuss because he is an idiot, he drives a big truck, wears dirty close and doesnt shower. His friends are all younger than himself, and he goes around beating everyone else around him and gangs up on smaller people.

In Canada, atleast people around my age (16-25) do not hate Americans, but we dont like them coming to our country and thinking they are better than us. They come here with a idea that we are some backward country, and are SURPRISED!! that we have many of the modern things that they do in America!!. They look down on us.

We feel that we are smarter, better in everyway, we feel like a European country and try to distance ourselves from the actions of the U.S.

First off, Tigran, you rather arrogantly stated you know more about America then Americans do. Sure you do.

While you complain about idiots like Tucker attacking your country, you go and attack my country. Why? Are you, being Canadian (bow in fear, behold the mighty Canadian!), somehow morally superior?

Why are Canadians always ranting about how they're bigger and better then America? I think it's an identity crisis, you guys are so like us and following us that you are starting to lose your identity as a country, so you make up crap about how Canada is a better country so you can feel good about yourself.

I lived in Canada for three years. I'm not clueless about Canada. I don't hate Canada. I don't hate Canadians. What I do hate are those who feel the only way they can have some identity as a country is by bashing the US and calling them hicks.

EDIT: I hope you don't leave, you're a cool guy and I think it rather rash to want to leave the forum because you weren't supported in your hatred of the US.

Sorry as a Canadian I think I need to step in. Stop flattering yourself; I don't go around gossiping about how stupid America is because I have a low self esteem. I [and other Canadians] are not in a state of penis envy.

This is getting stupid. Tigris can hate the US all he wants, he doesn’t portray the average Canadian.

Why are you paying any attention to what Tucker Carlson says?

He's a pathetic worthless person, and a dick, as Jon Stewart pointed out in person to him.
