    Default Varangian Micro-Mod

Well, this my first attempt on texture/model modding and I choose to improve one of my favorite units, the Varangian Guard. As I dont know how to create my own models - seems to me very complicated - I used the pronoiarii ones with some minor changes but I managed to create my own shields. The result isn't historically accurate but I think is a kind of cool. Hope you like it

    Nice choice of equipment...
I would wait a bit more for CBUR though...

But even if CBUR had anew version or not its good to see people
    to modify material.

Continue my friend ...who knows a new talend may be born in TWC.
TGC in order to continue its development seak one or more desicated scripters to put our campaign scripts mess to an order plus to create new events and create the finall missing factions recruitment system. In return TGC will give permision to those that will help to use its material stepe by step. The result will be a fully released TGC plus many mods that will benefit TGC's material.
Despite the mod is dead does not mean that anyone can use its material
    read this to avoid misunderstandings.

IWTE tool master and world txt one like this, needed inorder to release TGC 1.0 official to help TWC to survive.
Adding MARKA HORSES in your mod and create new varietions of them. Tutorial RESTORED.

WOW Those look great. My only suggestion is that most of them should be using round shields - from what i gather, they used a lot of their home equipment (e.g. dane ax and round shields)

Sorry I'm quite a noob when it comes to adding in units in M2TW. Can someone explain how I add this unit into the game. Thanks!

Replacing your files with the new ones should do the trick.

The 6 .mesh files (you ll find them inside the two "model" folders) should go in the "SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Stainless_Steel_6\data\unit_models\_units\byzantine_roster" folder,

the varangian.texture file in the "SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Stainless_Steel_6\data\unit_models\_units\byzantine_roster\textures" folder

    and

the two attachment .texture files in the "\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Stainless_Steel_6\data\unit_models\_units\byzantine_roster\attachmentsets" folder.

DONT forget to BACKUP your old files in case something goes wrong.
