Freezing in game

Got a quick question – I just built a new pc quad cord amd phenom II / Ge force 460 gtx / 8 gb 1600 ram / Win 7 – Everything is updated

Started having a few issues in NTW campaign where the system just freezes after about 2 mins and I have to reboot – multi seems to play fine and its only happened maybe once in multi. Ive noticed it does the same intermittently on youtube vids. Ive run remtest and have speedfan – rams has no error and during the ram test the CPU was about 55c – so that seemed ok to me.

I don't get the feeling it's a motherboard / vid card issue. any ideas

Install/update directx 9.0c, C++ 2005 SP1, .Net 4?

Did you get a big enough power supply?

Try running memtest, prime95 or OCCT. Maybe one of the memory sticks is bad.
I recommend 1 pass of memtest and 1 hour of OCCT for quick testing.

yes its win7 64 bit and ive done the 3 installs of directx 9 C++ and .net 4 - (This has really improved the stability but it did freeze up once last)

The power supply is a 600watts thermaltake

ive run 4 similtaneous memtest apps for a few hours and no errors were reported

i havent tried Prime95 or OCCT but will give that a shot

i tried OCCT and cant see any issues - but the temp did get up to 65c - is this ok you think

also ive had 2 freezes and a blue screen tonight - in either campaign or in youtube - but multi seems ok

It's not necessarily a game problem, then. May sound stupid but check your cable connections. Try your monitor at a lower resolution.
