    Default Alternative Installation Methods

I got a new PC a couple of days ago and am having real problems getting M2TW to install. It's so bad that I gave up in frustration and went and did something else for a while. I'm going to try again later today, but it just occurred to me that there might be another way.

    1. I simply put my HDDs from my old XP PC into this tower. Could I move files over to the Win7 HDD and install it that way? If so, how?

    2. Since Steam is being forced upon me when I buy a new game in a few days, is it possible that I could use my CD-Key to d/l M2TW for free? I know that some Steam-enabled games allow this.

    3. Something else?
I'm currently playing as England, and after hammering the Scots the Pope went medieval on my ass and booted me out of the God club. Next thing I know, I have dirty foreigners landing on my shores from wierd and far-flung countries. - Sargon_of_Akkad

    1. No. The best is a clean install. The way want to do it, the registry keys get messed up and the game does not work.

    2. Dunno. Empire and Napoleon, yes, but these older games you really need to ask them.

    3. Before installing the game in Win7, disable the UAC, install directx 9.0c, and then install in C:\Games.
