    Hey I just installed 6.3, then your compilation and the compilation fix.

    I run the game and get to the splash screen and then it just closes. No error message.

    I'm running windows 7 and a retail version, non-gold and patched to 1.05. I have a steam copy but I uninstalled it because it was too crap to bear.

    The Compilation fix? Do you mean the patch?
    And have you remembered to run SS_setup.exe after installing MSC?

    Using ss_Setup fixed it, but now I am getting CTDs every time I try and load a battle....I'm going to try a complete reinstall of everything.

    I'm playing the early campaign as the Crusader States and am on Turn 97 (Year 1148)
    My problem is I'm not seeing any historical events pop up like the council of troyes ect.

    Though I'm not too familiar with the descr_events.txt file, the one in the folder for TwoEarly and early are identical, is that the problem?

    The early, and TwoEarly descr_strats are almost identical. The only difference is the time-scale.

    Yes Ireland shows up just fine as far as I can tell.

    I was under the impression that the descr_events not the descr_strats is what controls when historical events pop up though and had to be changed to reflect whatever timescale is being used(i.e. after changing the timescale in descr_strats to 0.5 you'd still have to change the date numbers in descr_events).

    No, descr_events works based on years since campaign start, not turns. Therefore the Early and TwoEarly ones are identical.

    Go to your SS6.3 folder.
    Make a zip-file out of the system.log file.
    Upload that to here.

    Have you remembered to run SS_setup.exe? If not, do so.

    i was able to run the ss setup but after moving it out of the programs folder .But running SS it still crashes just like before.
    and also which FAQs are you reffering to?

    I have followed all the instructions...tried this with several fresh installs, but every time i run SS_setup it gives me the following message:

    "Error while trying to create a temporary file.
    Operation Aborted"

    I have tried this several times with different mods checked and unchecked. The game does not run after I install this compilation, it just goes to the splash screen then back to desktop.

    I've installed SS6.4 and the last compilation (5.0.1) and I received this error when I selected Early 2TPY Campaign:
    "Error while processing Istanople.txt

    File data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign\campaign_script.txt does not contain:
    ;-------------------------------------------------------------
    wait_monitors
    end_script

    Operation aborted."

    do you have an idea how I can fix this?

    It seems that the early campaigns do this. Even if I uncheck the Istanople script.

    You can also fix it manually by changing this in Istanople.txt:
    append data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign\campaign_script.txt with script.txt before:
    ;-------------------------------------------------------------
    wait_monitors
    end_script
    To this:
    append data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign\campaign_script.txt with script.txt after:
    ;=======================================================;
    ;================= ADDITIONAL SCRIPTS ==================;
    ;=======================================================;
