We all know this forum is sometimes spammed with useless threads.

You woud like to make a new thread, but you don't know if it would be useful/appreciated.

Here you can post any new ideas for a poll or thread, instead of just putting it on the forum.
Others can give their opinion about how useful/useless this thread/poll might be.
If found useful, you may post it on the forum of course.

    rules
    1. donnot offend anyone
    2. only thread title and a small description
    3. comments about the proposed thread being useful/useless/funny
    4. donnot steal anyone's ideas

Funny thread -titles, like a poll about 'do you like polls' (where did I see this before) are allowed to be posted here, instead of actually posting them on the forum. Keep this limited however, otherwise the thread may become spam/chaotic. Also clearly state in your post that it's only a joke.

This thread is made to make the work of the moderators easier and prevent spam-threads.

Feedback on the actual usefulness of this specific thread is of course also welcome (negative or positive).

I'm sure you have good intentions but, unfortunately this will likely turn out to be a useless thread. Although, I thought the same about the Official 'Ask Questions about TATW 1.0-2.1 Here' Thread and that is actually used quite a bit so, who knows.

This thread is partly based on the succes of the 'Official 'Ask Questions about TATW 1.0-2.1 Here' Thread', the idea is as stated before to reduce spam just like that thread does.

It's ironic how you try to get rid of useless threads by making the most useless thread ever

I think the other "official ask questions here thread" worked because Muffer made it, don't know about this one seeing as you have 13 posts

So, him having 13 posts somehow makes the thread less useful? I think Muffer's thread worked because the local moderators supported it quite well and, it was just a good idea.

It's not just because he has 13 posts, it's also that there's already another one (and like you said, that one was supported by moderators)

That's it, also when Muffer started the Ask question Thread, he also hasen't had such many posts - but he opended the "unnofficial" ask question thread as the official before 1.0 release was closed - now since 1.4 or something like that we have made this one "official"

do you just mean the thread titles or the polls as you cant post polls as replies

Well, just a small description of the poll/thread.
It's by no means the idea to start a poll/thread here, what would indeed be impossible.

If you are not sure about posting a new poll/thread about a random subject on the forum, you can ask us if it would be a good thing to do.

    Example:
reply: 'I want to make a poll about who would like to see Chuck Norris implemented in the game as a troll, swinging with a huge pink mace...'
reply of other users: 'I don't know if that would be a good idea.' 'It would probably be removed by the moderators' 'I don't support your idea' etc...

This could lead to the one who proposed that (really stupid) poll, not putting it on the forum thus reducing the ammount of unwanted, spam-threads/polls.

Instead, it would create spam posts. But at least the location is under control, then.

That's why I allow people to post 'funny' threads/polls aswell. Something like: 'a minor evil for a greater good'. This will remain very limited as stated in my first posts. I am sure the moderators will act if this would become a major problem in this thread, at least they won't have to search half the forum to find one inappropriate post/thread.

I don't think this thread will work for the main reason that people will start a new thread for basically anyhting whithout reading the old threads. Basically why the AQH thread hasn't been made sticky is because (IIRC) Jean Luc said it would make it less known to new people, the people with questions.

It will work for the moment . I wondered about making a thread about if any players re-name there settlements or re-name newly captured enemy settlements. Such as minas morgul to minas ithil for example.

Minas Morgul is one of two settlements that gets renamed automatically into Minas Ithil when you conquer it with Gondor. I don't rename my settlements although it would make sense for many conquerers renamed cities after taking them.

I think you shouldn't start a new thread for that question, better post it in the "official ask questions here thread".

Your question will be answered faster there. But feel free to wait till more people post their opinion.

To gloin99, it's good you've posted your opinion about the topic...
... but pleeze also mention if making a new thread about the proposed topic would be a good idea/where he would best post his question.

What the... Maybe we should make a new poll for each thread mentioned here to see if people think it will be useful?? Or a thread for "Should I post this post?"
