how do you use the ottomans
do you emphasize your power in your cav and melee and leave your musket power weak or do you mix everything in and use your melee to do the heavy damage?

it seems that the ottomans are very fun to play as. i have heard it from many you tubers.

i try to keep it balanced.have a few bashi, with equal number of cemaat, with nizam e cedit behind them.also keep some cav handy-when you engage the enemy inf in melee, you can use your cav to full effect...

Ottoman light infantry are lacking, Prussia is much more suitable.

i just play the cav advantage, 6 cav, 3 nizams and 3 heavy lancers, i also like getting 2 bashis and 2 cemaats to push a flank hard and make my cavalry even more effective.

Don't know about you,but I use this rush build (it's a modified version of Point_Man's ottoman build)-

x4 Cemat Jenissaries (3 Upgrades each)
    x2 Bashi Bazouks(2 upgrades each)
    x8 Nizam e Cedit Line(contains gen,gen has 1 upgrade)
    x 4 Mounted Nizam e Cedit
    x 2 Silhalter Guard

Pretty much, just bum rush your opponent.Use your bashi as a meat shield to take the shots and maybe take out a unit or two if your lucky. Then use your cav to force your opponent into squares once your line is in range, or if he doesn't form squares slaughter his inf.If he does "square up", take out his cav.Rush in your cemats then to slaughter his units (target elites or flanking forces first),and all the while your line is sniping in the background...

meh, i dont like to rush, i like team battles better and rushing in a team battle is usually asking for trouble if you are fighting a good group.

And a good rusher can overcome a good player; it all depends on speed.

And why do team battles make rushing harder? If anything,it makes them easier since flanking becomes harder.

PrussianPrince also used my build during a 4v4 clan match between Huntsman & FIGHT clan. I told my team mates how to face it, so let's just say PrussianPrince didn't last long.

its harder if their team gives their ally cav, then cemaats are made useless because the extra cav to charge them along with the normal cav ready to defend against otto's, flanking is harder in team battles but so is going all in with melee because even though the other partners are helping your guy in front, your allies still will have a hard time breaking their guy.

yeah i know that i did a 2vs2 and i used ottomans and we lost the match
so ottomans are really good agaisnt 1vs1 battles and if your opponent doesnt have alot of micro

lol,if you haven't noticed that build has 6 CAV,and at any given time you probably have 2 free ones unless your opponent spammed cav too.

+ any decent partner will try and stop any enemy support, through rushing, threatening cav movement, etc.

Or,at the very least, he will take advantage of the sudden lack of troops and continue to win in memory of you

Also, diaz,if you lost can you tell me A)Was it my build and B)What exactly happened to make you lose.

no it was my own build
and i did a horrilble job at micro and using my cav
and both players where pretty good one of them was a clan member and the other one was called apples and oranges
and my partner was a newbey the way he used his cav

@ Sir Diaz: Your own build may be decent, but the rest are definitely a perfect disaster storm

@[GODS]Scipio_Africanus: Actually,I don't.I've only used the build for 2 days, and my track record is:

1 loss in 1v1-I rushed in my cav too early, and of course they came back without their heads.

1 Win in 3v3-Not sure if that counts though,my opponents server disconnected and the ai gladly put it's head in a noose for me.

EDIT: @ Diaz-Apples and Oranges...Oh yeah, that's the new name for [ANV]WARCRY,a very good player who, though he has a short streak of cheating,is very skillful in both 1v1 and team based games (I actually lost to him today in a 2v2 on grassy flats....stupid cav....they HAD to charge when I was looking on my partner's side...)

@Point_Man-I'm not sure what you told your ally, but I guess it was something like "Use reserves.I'm sending cav". BTW,what are the purpose of reserves anyway;are they just meant as a way to wear down the enemy or what?

depends on the unit. melee reserves are insanely good against worn out troops, cav reserves are good late game when all the enemy units are too low to do squares.

lol I meant infantry reserves, for instance,I saw point man have a 5 part line in that vid (light inf, musketeers, more musketeers, foot guards, cav).I already use cav and melee reserves.

Well, inf reserves is kind of obvious, you should only engage with a small force of troops at one time in the first place so all those other infantry should be waiting for your small force to overwhelm the enemy force pointing at it so they can angle up and put more pressure on the dwindling flank. You should never engage with all your troops at once.
