I just got Napoleon:TW - Line infantry

I'm somewhat disappointed at how incredibly ineffective line infantry are in N:TW, honestly I just see them as noisy hunks of meat that used to distract the enemy from my cannons, not to mention the complete lack of firing drills means that there is barely any difference in the way the different types of infantry fight.

This thread serves another purpose: Any mod recommendations are welcome. I'm using Order of War right now and it's serving it's purpose, but if you know of a mod that would do more to fix the above grievances I'd be more than happy to hear it.

I know that there is proabably no mod that adds firing drills, but a mod that at least improves line infantry would be adequete.

LME (in the hosted section) is the best for this, its optional BAI mod is pretty realistic in terms of firing drills

Historically, Line infantry was very underpowered, artillery was the king of the field, and line was very similar to light infantry during the Napoleonic wars, the only difference is that lights were aloud to go into skirmish, but 95% of the time, the fought in exactly the same way as line.

Line is the only thing that can kill massed cav attacks and have the best morale.

Line is pretty good in NTW compared to ETW...

Being a line infantryman sucks in these times.
In ETW line infantry fight better against cav also better against light infantry in close-range fire (fire by rank) . In ETW without squares a line regiment can be raped even by hussars.

Good line infantry can win you the battle, you just have to know how to use them properly.

Yeah, line infantry suck. They are only the bulk of your army.
