Default Is Skooter Libby a Traitor?

If he leaked intel information during time of War, doesn't this mean he is guilty of high treason.

    Should he be

    a) Hanged as a Traitor

    b) Imprisoned for life as a Traitor

At worst, he leaked the name of a CIA agent who barely worked in the field anymore, he didn't commit treason. And treason is not a valid crime, if someone does not wants to turn on their country that is valid, one should not be hanged for it. He should be imprisoned for the crime that he did commit, perjury (and the others related).

Get a clue. The woman he allegadly 'outted' wasn't an undercover agent and hadn't been in the past 5 years. That's the bench mark that will never be met. In fact, she and her husband 'allegadly' (That means it really happened, right?) told their neighbors and people at the grociery store all the time. Ohhhh, real deep cover. This whole thing is just cooked up to try and go after someone close to Bush.

I love the poll options. He's guilty or guilty. Typical liberal hypocracy. What happened to "innocent until proven guilty"? Guess that only counts when it suites you.

    Again, typical.

I don't think that "traitor" is a proper term, or that he should be hanged.
I think that the real problem is the CIA itself! I can never get along with the USA policy on Spying and sattelites.

"We can have spy sattelites and it is good for our safety. If you have one you are an enemy.
We can send spies over to your country and betray your trust, but if you do it to us we will kill you.
If we leak information about your agencies it is a mistake. If you do it is a crime and you must die."

It isn't fair. Yeah, in the eyes of the organization he is a traitor, but it wasn't something that is worthy of the death penalty. Almost no one trusts the FBI, CIA or NSA anyway... Whenever they say anything about a crime, people don't care, because it usually doesn't affect them, only people linked to the group.

Uh oh, I agree with Alameda again.

Even on the point about typical liberal hypocracy.

Well if he is what does that make the New York Times who leaks classified CIA info all the time. In fact who leaked the thing about the NSA? It seems its only when a republican leaks something that its traitorous or even deserves investigation.
I have nothing against the womens movement. Especially when Im walking behind it.

No, it's not, at least to me, an issue of who leaks it. The difference is that leaking something like the NSA story is something that should be done because people have a right to know if the government is trying to spy on them. Leaking a covert CIA agent's name for your own gain is using it for personal greed and manipulating what you shouldn't be. Keep in mind that I am not even sure if Plame was covert and think the whole thing is taken more seriously than it should be.

Exactly if the left does it its good. Check my post on the topic of the NSA. Whoever leaked it belongs in jail. The president did nothing wrong there.

Leaking a covert CIA agent's name for your own gain is using it for personal greed and manipulating what you shouldn't be.
Fiirst off its very doubtful she was a covert agent. Secondly the NSA leak and the one about the CIA aircraft are much more damaging to our security than leaking that womans name. In fact her husband outted her before anyone in the administration. Its a sad joke that never should have gone as far as it did,Im glad to see you pretty much agree with that.

Lewis "Scooter" Libby is a former aide to Dick Cheney who has been indicted for perjury, obstruction of justice and making false statements.

Exactly, not for treason. He "leaked" as they call it, the name of a women who hadn't been an agent in the field for some time. Her husband had already outed her anyways. The problem is that he was careless in his statements and he was inconsistent which might now cost him.

    The poll is horrible.

Voted imprisonment because I oppose the death penalty.
