(Back story ) I have a fussy wireless connection (somethings wrong with it and the other computers/laptops my the house "steal" its connection we have too many computers using the same network or something) at my house and every so often (maybe 2 times randomly a week on average) the internet connection will just die and then reconnect shortly after. When you are doing something on the computer that involves sound you can tell that a disconnection is imminent because the audio will start to scramble and make a kind of *brrrrrttt* lagging noise.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Any ways I was playing N:TW a few days ago and I had a disconnection while playing. This has happened before to me and what I always do is just save and exit the game as soon as I first hear the distorted audio starting.

But this time after I restarted N:TW once my connection returned I found my game is like...broken .

My save that I saved just prior to the disconnection is gone. And from the main menu if I try to do any thing that involves the loading screen: load another saved game, start a new campaign, play a historical battle, etc. etc. the bar gets to like -> [/////////......................................................] that much full (the /// representing the progress) before crashing and giving me the "N:TW as stopped working" message.

Any idea on what is wrong? *sigh* just another reason why I am not a fan of all these "launch client" (Windows Live, Steam..) games, I wish I could just run it off it's good ole trusty CD.

Verify your game cache via Steam would be the place to start.

Uninstall Steam, delete the Steam folder and The Creative Assembly folder, reboot, reinstall Steam and your games.

You may want to rethink your wireless setup before it happens, again.

Hey irishron, sorry for bringing this thread back from the grave but I got some other questions. Even though I said "thanks" and left the thread I never actually did what you told me to (I got distracted by Roma Surrectum 2)

Any ways I'm confused about deleting The CA folder, I found it in Program Files x86 but it only has R:TW in it, is this the right thing?

Also what about my DLC will I lose it?

You find the scripts folder http://shoguntotalwar.yuku.com/topic...-Napoleon.html you will find the CA folder. The easiest I can make it for you.
