Default Northern Wars TW (Witcher world)- entirely new concept for BI [recruiting]

One of the main problems with to-days mods and TW vanilla is that you get powerfull and overrun everyone far too fast, i intend to make a mod that would be played over lengthier period of time and would bring simply more fun. It will be focused on economical models, and battle playing.

I am recruiting people who can help with achieving this effect, at this moment basically i need someone to do the graphics, someone to make me a map, and a advanced scripter, if you feel like helping, please send me a message. THX.

All the legwork is done, all that is left is to prepare map, put in the details, throw in the data, code the units and buildings and prepare the graphic for the lot.

    Historical Background:

The game would be based in fantasy world created by author Andrzej Sapkowski (wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrzej_Sapkowski). Its circulated within period of northern wars, so invasion by Empire of Nilfgaard under Imperator Emhyr var Emreis against loose coalition of Rivia and Lyria, Aedirn, Kaedwen Temeria and Redania as well as other, minor allies. Its time of darkness, xenophobia where man are man, elves are cunning, cruel and completely ruthless...

    Concept:

It is not meant to be "lore" accurate representation or even more Witcher Saga followup, but a focused on gameplayability.

    Following factions would be playable:

Imperium Nilfgaardica: a powerfull and centralised absolute monarchy, its rise to power thanking to excellent civic laws, strong and centralised monarchy with usually excellent rulers, efficient production and strong armies outfitted with high level of equipment and extremely high discipline.

Economy: Based mainly in production and taxing, gross grain exporter from core provinces on Alba river. Other trade products contain iron in Metinna and Maecht, copper and other mining in Amell and Tochair mountain ranges.

    Military:

    Infantry:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

City Militia: using simple square shields and wooden clubs with iron ends, this is a cheap method of controlling populace without upkeeping expensive field infantry in city walls, althought pretty disciplined, these units are too weak and untrained to be considered "real" army, and are best at what they have been designed to do, safeguarding city streets.
(similar to: Roman Town Militia crossbreed with sugdian infantry)

Infantry Reserve: these are not strictly speaking combat soldiers, when a footman is injured and before it will be decided where to send him (if return to native formation is not possible), they are temporarily assigned to these training units, also new soldiers are sent there to learn from returning to health veterans and before theyre billets will be punched, and they will be sent to any of the corners of empire.Theyre equipment consist of oaken round shields, carried on the backs in march and regular iron swords, they use no chainmails but heavy leather garb spiked with iron nails to deflect worse of the blows.
(similar to: barbarian infantry of vanilla RTW, but smaller shields)

Imperial Pikeman: these pikeman know they job well, it is to maintain the centre of any Imperial Army formation, althought theyre not as well trained as some other heavier units, theyre defence lay in long spears and thick wooden shields covered in iron plate, they use also heavy chain mail to protect themselves and iron helmets. Theyre used to pin down enemy troops or stop enemy cavalry charge.
(similar to: phalanx pikeman, but with much higher defense and lower attack and phalanx capacity, in other words germanic infantry of BI, but with longer spears)

Light Footman: the holders of the land, these units using swords and round shields, and light chainmails are used as skirmishers in battle, they fast and skillfull and protect the flanks for heavier assault infantry, they used vastly in concquered provinces where the need for army presence is higher than for just city militia.
(similar to: Velites of RTW, but without pilium)

Prime Infantry: if youve sinned against the empire, you better watch out for them, iron clad from head to toe, using long swords and triangular shields in combat, theyre the hands with which Imperator concquers his enemies. Theyre most skillfull killers in the empire and few of a foe can match them. The minus is however that the price of upkeep of this iron fisted servants of the state is written in blood and sweat of the peasants.
(similar to: Roman Legionary cohort, but no pilium)

Impera Footman: only the most loyal of nobility can gain entrance to Impera Guards, theyre charge to do the most of private biddings of Nilfgaards rulers. Armored in best gear the money can buy and using in battle long swords but no shields theyre used strictly to break enemy ranks and cut them to pieces. Surprisedly the price of these mighty warriors keep is not as high as one would thought, as it is covered mainly by theyre families, it is the highest honor to serve the Emperor after all...
(similar to: Gallowglass but highly armored)

Imperial Household Guards: unusual to see on the battle, these guardians of Emperor properties are loyal only to him. They would be nothing if not him. Recruited from death row convicts, and saved by Imperial whim, they know what harsh consequences awaits those who disobey theyre orders, theyre discipline is unrivalled. Armed with long and gilded berdiches, which they can operate with high skill, they use no shields, and although silver-black armor, which they use, looks mightly beautiful its effectivness is lesser than those of first line soldiers.
(similar to: dont think there is anything quite like this in RTW/BI/M2 etc.)

Provincial Archers: recruited from local populace and using simple bows these units support imperial armies on the march and battle field, due to use of second class equipment theyre range is limited and skills are low. Best used to harass infantry or using lighted arrows as psychological weapons. Beside often home-made bows, they use only cloth or primitive leather armor.
    (similar to: basic archers)

Foot Crossbowman: keeping enemy pinned is always usefull, these man are usually farmers and city boys, who have no prospect of attaining wealth, as 3rd or 4th sons of theyre fathers with no imheritance prospect. They have been trained to degree, and equipped with decent chaimails and theyre main attributes powerfull military crossbows and large rectangular shields. As personal weapons they wield minature swords, but only madman would send them to hand to hand combat.
(similar to: bucellari crossed with hoplites)

Longbowman: recruited from elder or less fit soldiers of empire, these man are trained in use of military longbows of terrible power, these bows made of multiple laminate horn-wood-sinew combinations are theyre only weapons, they also use heavy leather armor. The range of these beasts is unrivalled on battlefield.
(similar to: well, i intend to give them range 250 and attack 14, guess whats that...)

    Cavalry:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Scouts: light formations usually commanded by outstanding students of imperial military academy on theyre half-year tour with troops, they use slighly bent single edged long swords, used to scout and protect infantry in march, in battle mainly used to circle and cut down enemy archers. They use only leather reinforced armor and caps, and no shield.
(similar to: greek cavalry militia, no spears)

Nausicaa: light cavalry brigade of empire, soldiers both able and skillfull, used often in fast raids into enemy territiories. Its troopers use chainmails long oval shields of composite timber with hard leather cover and long cavalry swords.
    (similar to: long-shielded carthage cavalry)

Daerlan: similar to Nausicaa these troopers however are equipped with light cavalry bows which they use to harass the enemy, but they dont use shields which make them more vulnerable in direct encounters.
(similar to: parthian horse archers, but chainmailed)

Vrihedd: medium combat cavalry uses metal triangle shields, solid chainmails and covering entire chest plate armour. Used to combat enemy cavalry and flank attacks against infantry. Apart of armour they use long and heavy cavalry swords and no shield. Considerably faster than most of cavalry.
(similar to: sarmatian cavalry mercs but swords instead of spear)

Ard Feiann: assault cavalry division, fully plate mailed and using long spears to charge and heavy swords in close encounter, used to break any foot that can stand in theyre way. Even tho theyre horses are breed for size and sheer strength this brigade cannot chase any other cavalry as it is too slow. Due to the fact that its members are exclusively nobility, theyre costs of upkeep are considerably low, which doesnt change the fact that training and equipping them is insanely costly.
(similar to: cataphract with long and heavy lances)

Impera: mobile variety of Imperators troops, as fast as Vrihedd, but better equipped, they have everything the money can buy starting from horses and weapons ending on woman and wine. Using long swords and light metal shields, they use lighter version of full plate armor.
    (similar to: Legion cavalry/frankish paladins)

    Siege:
(notes:Imperial army doesnt use rams or magic for siege operations)

    (notes: no building damaging capacity)

Ballistae: catapults are in use in every army, nothing distinguishes those, with exception of faster moves as theyre equipped with wooden wheels for battlefield mobility.

Combat Onager: upgraded version of balistae, althought no wheels can be set for such a heavy machine, they fire barrels of burning oil of naphta against enemies even half mile away.

Siege Onager: slow and unwieldy, these powerfull machines hurl great stone blocks breaking anything in theyre range to rubble.

    Fleet:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Koga: light sailing vessel usually used for trading, transport or coastal operations. Not suited for permanent combat operations.

Holk: medium sized ship using two masts. Used for chasing around enemies and corsair activities close to enemy waters.

Caravel: slower than Holk but much more powerfull, if you see one, run unless you want to meet the crabs.

United kingdom of Lyria and Rivia: provincial and forrested country, its survival is thankfull to available mercenaries led by cunning kings of Jaruga upper run, and theyre politics helped by naturally defensible posistions.

Economy: based on harvesting fishery, mediocre farm land, main supply of wealth is however trading and silver mining. This land is not wealthy, but its army is raised easily as most of the regions inhabitants are not strangers to strife or hardihood.

    Military:

    Infantry:

(similar to: greek foot militia or RTW, no phalanx tho.)

Rivian Berdichers: this is a mainstay and skeleton of rivian armies, into which recruits can be poured easily. These man use chainmails and long two handed bardiche, they can alike stop cavalry charge and smash a hole in infantry formations. They use no shields.

Theyre army is based purely on infantry with poleaxes, battlemaces and large and rectangular shields.

there will be at least one more unplayable and perhaps more, "appearing" faction of free elves Aen Seidhe in dol blathanna province, providing Nilfgaard captures Cintra, Brugge, Nastrog, Scalla and Spalla. "Perhaps more" contains playable-unlockable Brokillon Dryad country as ultra-hard faction, and possibly as result of dissent creation of Verden, Brugge, Caingorn and Poviss. What i dont want to do is to make too many of them, and have them as similar faction with only minor differences as to make them "copy and paste" factions.

ps. perhaps i will even "move" zerikania to add it to this map and factionise it, which would be highly interesting feature.

I think that this is a great idea! There are very few fantasy mods out there with a well-developed world.

research is done and dusted, dont really think there will be anything else left, since i know most of it by heart.

when it cames to modding im part of Second Age TW team, and ive done all sorts of mods to mods by myself. i cant do everything for sure, i need at least one graphic designer, to mod up few things and create some of the units that doesnt exist as models for BI.

advanced scripting is another thing, i can do a lot on my own, but for example alterations for effects of war on economy is another issue ill have to deal with someone elses help.
