Hello and welcome to the forums

RTR offers many mods to choose from however the one closest to what you want is RTR PE. None of the mods are just a redone vanilla and have quite a few innovative changes to the game. Have fun playing!

Aye, Remlap's right. I'm proud of what we've done with the ExRM, but I think it's more than a bit different from vanilla RTW.

After playing RTRPE (or ExRm, which is a complete overhaul of a complete overhaul, so to speak ) and getting the feel of a non-vanilla game, you should try out RTR: TIC and RTR: FOE, too! They are basically new versions built by a new team, completely from scratch.

The Iberian Conflict (TIC) is about Hamilcar Barca's campaigns in Iberia, and features a detailed map of Iberia. Fates of Empires (FOE) has a map of the Western Mediterranean and focusses on the Pyrrhic and Punic wars.

The version now in development is VII, which is -probably- the last project of the RTR team on Rome - Total War, will have a map spanning from the Atlantic ocean to Western Anatolia, so it includes Gaul, Northern Africa, Iberia, Southern Germania, Italy, Greece, Western Anatolia and the Balkan. The previews you see in this forum are all showing new content from RTRVII
