coca has been a part of indeginious life for generations....Morales does not like cocaine though and won't tolerate trafficking.

The biggest issue here are the gas reserves, its wealth should be used on the people like Chavez does his oil wealth. Chavez is doing quite well right now with the economy growing and the opposition pretty much destroyed (I think new opposition may come from his camp if Chavez does poorly). Bolivia has it tougher though, and Congress will make sure Morales doesn't go too extreme.

Coca plants will be legal, cocaine will not be legal.

What is it with you and leftist leaders who used violence (in Evo's case inciting violence demonstrations) in their past to get their point across before being elected leader of their country as somehow being well...noble? I mean er cheer to Bolivia for electing an uneducated llama herder who got elected by blaming the US for his countries woes...congrats Bolivia or should I say sorry? Unlike Chavez, Evo is going to need US aid to continue (unless of course he actually goes the route some think and basically becomes a President/Drug Lord...sarcasm btw) unless of course his pal Chavez wants to try and prop him up.
