I'd also like to recommend it. Try watching 'Tears of the Sun' as well, which is set in Nigeria.

On the other hand, it has Nicolas Cage. More than enough reason to stay away.

ah yea, i've seen that lord of war movie

I like older war flicks because they look more realistic.

I know of some Portuguese movies about the colonial war. There was this one, from 2 or 3 years ago, which I heard it wasn't that bad actually (as you'd probably expect from a Portuguese movie). I don't remember the name though. I think the title was a date, like 03-1968.

Also Black Hawk Down (obvious)

and Tears of the Sun.
