Default Why are Lithuanians a horse archer-faction?

When I visited Lithuania recently, I noticed the landscape was hilly and forested, not at all suitable for horse archer tactics. So why are they portrayed in the game as halfway a steppe people with plenty of horse archers to go with their axemen of the forest?
The game development business is one of bottomless greed, pitiless cruelty, venal treachery, rampant competition, low politics and boundless personal ambition. New game series are rising, and others are starting their long slide into obscurity and defeat.

About different I read that Lithuania was good for war only at winter, cuz it was surrounded by forests, lakes, swamps. I guess same goes for Belorusian land's, only Samogitia is plain field and is famous for its horses(maybe thats why?). But I don't even know how creator's decided to make such units..

as far as inaccurate may go with the troops in the game, they tended to use and throw spears and use the bows only from foot...but u can't have everything in a game lol.

but yes...medieval Lithuania was mostly cavalry...and almost all light horse at that except for allies/mercenaries. ....and in fact...most of there 'infantry' were dismounted horse.

the best single resource i found really quick, was this: http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/matthaywo...anian%20Armies
