How To Fix UAC and VirtualStore Problems

No it did not. I just completed another Spybot scan and the Trojan did not show. Apparently it doesn't show anymore. It always interacted with the UAC before maybe that makes it not show that it cleans or something. At least it is gone. I will try to install TATW now. Thanks for all your help.

Ok I am about ready to give up. I installed TW2 and the Britannia campaign previously(I read I only needed to install 1 campaign from kingdoms) and TATW today. I can only get TW2 working. When I try Britannia or the Kingdoms shortcut or the TATW shortcut I get wrong disk inserted. I change disks and still wrong disk inserted.

That error message is for having the UAC enabled. Disable it and leave it disabled.

I have UAC on never notify. What else do I need to do?

I have Win 7 and my UAC set the same. Try rebooting your computer?

Ok I tried the reboot, still the same problem.

In it, click Addintional tweaks
Next screen, click the Show "Take Ownership" box
Click Apply,
Click Close and you may have to restart your computer.
Next open Computer,
right-click the C: drive icon,
click Take Ownership and follow any instructions following,
click okay.
Now try starting the game.

Ok it is in the process of changing ownership. This isn't going to mess anything else up is it? I really should have asked that first.

It won't change any files or folders. Just make life for you easier.

Ok I got all but a couple of files and some Microsoft update files changed. Still the same problem.

Anything in Windows' Event Viewer about the time you tried to start the game?

I will probably have to wait on that until Saturday. I am stressed out from those Trojans today and busy tomorrow.

What should I do on a fresh install and why could it turn out different? Should I install all of the Kingdoms mods? Also I installed to the SEGA folder because the install shield didn't seem to be making a new folder when I tried to change it to games, was I in error?

If you have at least 9gb of free disc space on C: drive you can pick your own folder, even a different drive. Many don't use the autorun and use the setup.exe on the disc.

If the installer put it in C:\Program Files (x86), it undid everything you tried to do.
