Depends. I'll get some choppiness when it gets close to 10,000 troops in the field. All those calculations and orders going on for every unit slows down the one processor core the game is aloud to use.

Buy a new PC having multiple GPU's and Super OCed CPU or lower ur graphical settings and Unit scale to normal.

First Q6600 is by default at 2.4 GHz so are u a stock cooler for that?
The max stable i have seen on this one is 3.6 on Aircooling with a dedicated Air cooler from Thermalright.
If u really are Ocing it at 3.9 Ghz then i would like to see it's info for the CPU in the Bios settings and the frequency and latency of the RAM u are using.

Is this specifically happening in SS or even in vanilla or kingdoms as u have mentioned 1VS1 unit.

What about your Catalyst drivers are they updated? And about the DX9.0c drivers are they updates as well?

Recording a game doesn't helps in this case answer the questions i asked in the previous post.
Also at what resolution u are running battles ?

There's some problem with Stainless Steel 6.3 that makes the game lag enough to be unplayable, even though 6.2 (and Vanilla) runs fine on my computer. Blaming the machine is not logical valid when it's able to run the core game well.

    Did you try SS 6.2?
The game development business is one of bottomless greed, pitiless cruelty, venal treachery, rampant competition, low politics and boundless personal ambition. New game series are rising, and others are starting their long slide into obscurity and defeat.

6.3 has many graphical enhancements(for eg Permanent arrows) so that's why it's heavy and it runs fine on my rig as it is a overkill for this 8 year old game.

yea I have battle lag during a city battle after installing the new Meneth's 3.0 fix. I have no lag during field battle it only happened in city battle so far (while I am defending and sallying out). It got to the point that it crashed once, saying my graphics settings are too high. I have the same setting before the 3.0 fix playing 6.3 campaign halfway through, this issue just came up.

I am currently running a core-i7 930 2.8G, 6 gigs of CL6 Mushkin DDR3 ram and GTX 470 with 1G ddr5 ram. And I am running windows 7 Ultimate in 64-bit. Just saying I have the same problem too.

I have also noticed this with 6.3, even with PA turned off, and my machine is pretty fast and less than a year old. Not sure why, but I still love playing 6.3

I just got my first error in a field battle too. I have already turned down a few thing already. This is like almost 70 turns and had no error ever with all max settings turned on. Certaintly I have been playing the plain 6.3 with no error in any battle or campaign map ever. Something might not be right. Thought unlikely, it could be the lastest Nividia driver I got today or could be recent patches.
