Mods will not work after reinstalling

A note before I go any further: I bought RTW off of steam.

Here's how it started: I decided to try Roma Surrectum II, but I couldn't get it to work. After realizing that it didn't mod folder, I deleted all of that and put in my backup copy of RTW. For some reason, it was missing a file, so I reinstalled RTW.

But ever since then, I get the can't find steam error every time I load up ANY mod. Any ideas?

I'm going to try reinstalling on of the mods to see if that works.

EDIT: Reinstalling the mod didn't even work...

Are there any files for RTW in %appdata%? You may have to unhide all files and folders first.

Is the mod being installed where it belongs? Check the target in the mod's icon and make it match the one in computer.

Everything appears to be right. Can't seem to think anything that would be wrong. I have the launch options set up right.

Hmmmm.... Hope I will figure this out.

Do the installers even find the Steam folder and RTW inside it?

Does vanilla RTW campaign work? Does BI campaign work?

If they work, there is nothing wrong with the Steam install. Contact the mods' forums on how their mods work on Steam.

Well, to some extent, that is the problem. I had played the mods the same day I reinstalled RTW. I had to reinstall because I learned the hard way that Roma Surrectum II was not mod foldered. I reinstalled and now I can't get them to work.

I will contact Steam to see if I can get anywhere. I appreciate the help. If you have anymore ideas, please post, since I highly doubt that I'll too far with that.

One way maybe to make a copy of the RTW folder, rename the copy RSII, install the mod there and change the target shortcut to match. When you want to add a mod, make another copy, and repeat for the next mod. I have three mods this way even though I installed them with disc. I see no reason it won't work for you.
