That's not possible. There are about 5 or more versions (localisations, etc) - we could give you one and it won't work. Use the almighty google and check out sega support.

The patch should be an installer, it's been a while but I can't remember manually replacing any files.

You may need to use 7Zip (free online) or another free or opensource unzipper (I've found that winzip doesn't work at all for these), if the download is a .rar file. Then just unzip it anywhere in a new folder, and hopefully there is a setup.exe after it all unpacks. Then just run setup. That should work. If not, try unzipping in the main Medieval 2 folder and then running the setup.

I just checked my backup, it should be a straightforward zip file with a few setup files, data1 and data2.cab and a "main" folder. Unzip it to a temporary directory and run the setup.exe.
