Could someone please put a link up of the Kingdoms 1.5 patch download, preferably one which has an installer

That's not possible. There are about 5 or more versions (localisations, etc) - we could give you one and it won't work. Use the almighty google and check out sega support.

Fair enough, il have a look.

I downloaded a v1.5 somewhere but it had loads of files that needed extracting.
Where would i extract these files?
would i extract them to the main Medieval II Total war folder?

The patch should be an installer, it's been a while but I can't remember manually replacing any files.

You may need to use 7Zip (free online) or another free or opensource unzipper (I've found that winzip doesn't work at all for these), if the download is a .rar file. Then just unzip it anywhere in a new folder, and hopefully there is a setup.exe after it all unpacks. Then just run setup. That should work. If not, try unzipping in the main Medieval 2 folder and then running the setup.

I just checked my backup, it should be a straightforward zip file with a few setup files, data1 and data2.cab and a "main" folder. Unzip it to a temporary directory and run the setup.exe.

ok, that helped.
i now have the installer up.
it has come up with a window saying i already have the 1.05.000 version already installed...

when i downloaded the file it was titled as the 1.5 version.

is this correct?..i think that might be right because i remember thinking the same when doing updates with 1.2/1.3 before, so maybe ive already got 1.5 installed.

I can hardly jugde the version of your kingdoms.exe Either trust the installer on that one or check the exe if you know where to look
