    Default Help with installation

    First
I can play normally medieval total 2 with no issues (medieval 2 through steam)

on the BC installation, it occours normally, then i started to follow this steps which i've been told from this thread: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=385189

it all goes alright when i get to this two steps:
    b. Remove this file from your BC world file found in the following target path; “C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\medieval ii total war\mods\Broken_Crescent \broken_crescent\data\world\maps\base”;
    map.rwm

    c. Remove these files from your BC text file found in the following target path; “C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\medieval ii total war\mods\Broken_Crescent \broken_crescent\data\sounds”;
    events.dat
    events.idx

i checked and rechecked, i dont have a map file on the base folder, all i have its 'map_this' 'map_that',
    no 'map'

about the sound folder, inside of it i have another folder called music, which has lots of files, but no events.dat or events.idx files ( i tried showing up hidden files, no luck)

apart from this, it all goes alright as expected

i decided to give a try at the game anyway, after i did all this (and didnt do the steps mentioned above) i clicked on the BC exe on the desktop and....nothing, a real fast black window appears and vanishes,no loading, no nothing
    it follows:
    http://img42.imageshack.us/f/blackscreenofdeath.png/

(it is a bit transparent couse i had to quick print screen it, pardon my reflexes)
(i tried uploading directly in this post, but no luck lol sorry!)

so i pray that you Wudang or any other tech expert can help me with this, i really wanna play this game!!

I don't really know how to help you, because I have no experience using Steam. I can't recommend anything else than General George Monck's installation guide...

About the black screen of death?
have you ever met her before? if you did, how to fix it?

and about the General George Monck's installation guide, well, i followed the steps there but i came across the issues mentioned in my first post (didn't find files where i was suppost to, checked and rechecked, tried show hidden files, nothing)

and now, after i tried installing BC, medieval wont enter, gives me fatal error
    lol FUUU!!!!

And who did you address that "FU" to?

This is your problem to deal with, not mine. General Monck found a way to install the mod, he made a guide, the rest is up to you. If you can't deal with it, then what can I do about it?

Wow, that ''FUUU'' was merely a swear at my own personal luck regarding the fact i bought medieval through steam instead of buying stand alone version

I nowhere near was swearing at you or any of you guys of the broken crescent team, however, if you interpreted this way, i can assure you that was not what i meant

and yes, i 100% knows that this is -my- problem to solve it, and that you carry no obligation to atture me crying for help, but you know, this is a ''tech help forum'' so i'm here for this ( i also do know that i cant get pissed while in here, and i didn't, i'm pissed off with steam )

and returning to the subject in matter, does anyone knows how to fix the problem mentioned in the first post?

ps: Wudang again i say, i didn't want to raise attriction in here, belive me, and i apologize if i created any

    Ah, that's okay, then.

Regarding the problem, I think General Monck could help you, but given number of posts under his avatar, I think he is long absent. In that case I would try general M2TW tech help for Steam users.

Just don't let them send you back here - they like to do this very much. Personally, I can't help you, because I have no experience with Steam, but maybe some of posters here who use Steam could help you too.

Sorry wudang_clown. I tend not to post allot as there is already allot of viable info for most issues and I spend most my time reading anything I can get my hands on rather than asking for help. (This ought to be an introductory popup for all new forum members "Do the reading and then post once you have exhausted all the possabilities").

I have now replied to Havok's message. But in this case it may be my fault as the instructions I gave didn't specify that they are intended to allow users to run the game from the launcher.

As for the late reply, sorry, I was doing some carpentry at my mum's house and she doesn't have reliable internet access and the job took longer than expected, so I didn't get the message until now.

I will now edit the Steam instructions to let people know to use the launcher through Steam.

    Dear Mr Havok,

Please have a look at my research and reporting thread here which I am using to gather information on a range of Steam/BC problems. Please read and contact me as and when you have the spare time.
