Default Wars of Italy - Work in Progress

    Wars of Italy...

    About:
For some time now, I have been working on a little mod. It's a campaign that includes Italy, Sicily, Carthage, Illyria and Epirus. The inspiration is from Jack's mod, which unfortunately is dead. I liked the idea, and the map, and so I decided to make my own one. It's cut from the Mundus Magnus map.
    Details:
Here is a map: (from map_regions, I haven't made a working map yet)

(I know it's bad quality but it was blown up 500%, the original is tiny)

    I am making two versions:
v1: just a campaign you can put into the campaign folder.

v2: A modfolder which includes other files that have been modded. This version
    • Renames some factions (see below).
    • Changes what is recrutable in campaigns for some factions.
    • Changes the campaign water to make it look better.
    • Changes the factions that you can play as in custom battles.
    • Changes the units recruitable in custom battles.
    • And maybe more...
    The faction list:
    Julii - Rome
    Senate - Senate
    Brutii - Samnites
    Gauls - Cisalpine Gauls
    Greek Cities - Syracuse
    Seleucids - Epirus
    Carthage - Carthage
    Dacia - Illyria

    Story:
Long ago, before Rome became great and powerful, it was just a bunch of states in northern Italy. They had to fight the Cisalpine Gauls in the north and the Samnites in the south. Then the Epirotes invaded, and they had to beat them back too. The Syracusans resisted them in Sicily, and then there was Carthage, the powerhouse of the western Mediterreanean. The Illyrians were to the north-east of Italy, on the other side of the Adriatic, just waiting to invade. Somehow, the Romans deafeated all of these people, and became the empire it was known for. But always remember, there was a time when Rome was small.....

    Team:
Calisthenis of Green Day - Mapper, Coder (Scripter too, if I decide to include it.)
    ChazB- - Mapper
    Spartan262 - 2D Art, Coder
    debux - Skinner

We are recruiting! If you feel YOU have something to add to Wars of Italy, PM me with what you can do.

    Any comments would be welcome.
Et iterum Italy cadant in bello.

I want to keep it simple, so for the first release, I want the regions to stay as they are.

Thanks for the comment +rep. Love the sig.

Isn`t this pretty close to Paeninsula Italica? Why not start with that instead of redoing everything?

Paeninsula Italica is a huge mod with a map of Italy that's huge. This is a mini-mini mod on Italy. I want to keep it simple and small.

It's going good. I've got someone working with me. (Still wouldn't say no to any more though : )

I'm hoping to get it released by early January next year. Sooner if I can. It may be later though.

I can do some 2D Editing and some easy text files stuff and I'm in the process of learning how to skin units so I'd love to get involved as I have plenty of free time

Pretty sure I can but if I can't I'll just learn how. I do more modding in NTW but I can do this.\

Just tell me what you want done and I'll do my best.

I'll send you a PM tomorrow. I did a huge PM and it got lost due to an auto log out. I'm still seething.
And I had to write this again because of another logging in issue!

Anyway, you'll get the details tomorrow.

Hum. Would a forum or webspace be helpful? I'm on a bit of a mission to find some new mods for my forum (which currently hosts Persian Invasion and Warhammer Total War, with more mods in the pipeline hopefully).

    That's..........generous of you...........

Where is the forum/webspace you speak of? Here? Or somewhere else?

(Don't take the ellipsis wrong, I appreciate the offer)

^This is our RTW modding area.

If you check the links at the top of the page you'll find the gallery and pages for other mods, we can get you fixed up on the same system (we also try and do other helpful things like post on just about every TW forum we know on when a release happens so you get maximum publicity).
