Kingdoms unspecified error after battle

I recently reinstalled Medieval 2 and the Brittania Campaign from Kingdoms. First thing I did was start up the brittania campaign try to jump into a custom battle. After loading the battle before deployment the game crashed with a unspecified error. I vaguely remember having a similar problem a few years ago when I last played Medieval, but don't remember how I fixed it.

Nope. All I did besides install was patch to 1.5. I think I'm going to try reinstalling without the patch and see if that had anything to do with it.

It might be a good idea. Some downloads are bad even if they "Install".
