playing Rome is too easy I was able to build two full "legions" each with 20 units to garrison in sounthern Italy and Sicily , they just stay in their fort and do nothing . Even with such cost the economy still produce lots of money per turn and I then conquered Carthage and Spain with nearly all the battles auto-reserved ,i chose to conquer those 2 regions first because they are far and i want the Macedon and Gaul tribes to become strong .Then again after conquering Spain and Carthage I build 2 new legions with 20unit each and let them guard those 2 areas . And again my economy still produce a whole lot of money and now i am sending armies into Gaul and seem to have no trouble at all in conquering the whole Gaul![]()
stay tuned for this....Rome will become harder

Ah, mis-remembered then. I knew at some point they had to be built but could not recall whenYou can entirely progress without them![]()
They are the same but you need The Allied state building.
Now for Spain. After I abandoned it I set the remains of my Iberian Legion into my Africa legion and created Legio Africanus (tralala in my own head), from here I was able to create a system of forts which I used to send troops back and forth for retraining. After a lot of battling I am now able to hold the North Western Africa with no Carthaginian army in sight. Of course you do not NEED to leave it, but to me it is just a meatgrinder. It is better to go for Chartago instead and siege their power base.

Please continue the guide, I like your way of playing and your way of guide writing is pleasant to read.
Thanks for the guide. You should have mentioned that building Vulcan temple and Gladiators arena will boost your troops.
I'd be most interested in a guide focusing on the late game rebellion. I breezed through the initial rebellion on H/H because the AI seems to love attacking me when I am sitting on mountaintops, but I have no idea what to expect from the late game rebellion.
Another (off topic) question: does Law decrease the amount of money lost to corruption? Or is that simply an amount lost due to distance to capital/governor?

Sorry, everyone, I've been sick for the past few days and missed these posts. I just finished rebuilding my BootCamp partition with Windows 7. I finally have it installed, and RSII installed, and everything is sweet now. I can even play with huge units.
A rather lot has changed in the patch, so I'm going to start over. I'll reformat the first post and save the original guide as an archive. The new guide will start off from the beginning of the game.
Again, thanks for the interest.

That's a thought ... maybe I will, if I have some time - or can make some time.
One thing I noticed last night in testing RSII with huge units: the game seems easier, even on hard/hard. Testing again this morning confirmed this. The longer my Roman cohorts fight, the more likely they are to route an enemy.
Another problem is placement. In breaking a siege of Rome, I discovered there wasn't enough room on the map to deploy my large army - I literally ran into the edge of the map.
On huge, the battles do take longer, so maybe I'll save the huge battles for a 1-turn campaign.

1. True but that is not so notable in the expansion as enemy units are 1 or 2 slver chevrons by default...I play H/H on huge and its great fun
2. well...its only with Rome as far as I remember
3. Thats great..especially when play 1turn Rome...it feels more epic and in 1turn there are less battles anyway..I only fight those with full stacks though
Hey can u give us a guide to reinforcements. Because how do u keep a legion at full strength even when its recruitment zone is so far away. Example Flavia Felix legions begin recruited in Macedon but being posted to Britian and such.
Australia will conquer the world!!!
Why Flavia Felix? If I were you, I would use one of the legions that you can recruit in Gaul. But if you must, just continously train fresh units in Macedon and send them to Britain ahead of time so they will arrive when you need them. If nothing happens to them on the way.
