Thank you sooooooo much! I didn't even know about this untill today so hopfully I will be able to paly NTW again! This is great becasue TGW keep making my game crash and I haven't played Napoleon since July! Thank you!!!
Ok, I updated the tool so it now looks at your registry to find your data path.
Which should mean no more problems for anyone. My code was lazy before, and I appologise.
Link
still will not work
Thats impossible if you have a Steam version of NTW installed on your PC.When you install the game, Steam creates a registry entry with a link to your data path. The program reads that entry and thus has your data path.
Is your copy legitimate ?
Is there anything particularly odd about your installation?
I have the exact same problem. Legit steam copy, installed on D:\Steam\steamapps\common\napoleon total war. Says 'no files found in specified folder', even if I point it to the exact location.
Then, I can't get TGW to work either. I had to do a manual install as the installer could not locate the installation of NTW. I followed every step to the best of my ability, yet no TGW![]()
Seems there's no 'appdata' folder related to NTW anywhere, though. Not sure if that is the problem. Game works as it should normally.
Suggestions?

Strangely enough, when I click 'open data folder' in your app, that works fine.
i install whit disc but i have it on steam since u have to have napoleon on steam i have a legitimate version and nothing odd whit the installation
its stame that same thing i download and unrar the Data checker Start it tells it where to go it says nothing is there
I'm missing a program that allows me to veiw these files, including TGW. Suggestion programs are adobe reader and Internet explore. It's obviously not what i need, any suggestions on what to use?
Thank you for this wonderful tool! I love it!
I am the author of the "Weaker Towers" and "Officers Of" series of mods for Total War: Warhammer!

Thats very wierd. Can you give me the location of your data folder and your OS?
For instance mine is XP.. "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\napoleon total war\data"
Win 7 x64
D:\Steam\steamapps\common\napoleon total war\data
Hmm, so it definatly knows where your data folder is, it's just not finding the files within the data folder it looks like, I believe this might be due to the fact your game is on D. It shouldn't matter, but who's knows. Ill have a look.
Just to make sure all avenues are explored, I tried running in admin-mode which often solves troubles in win 7, but to no avail unfortunatelyLocated my appdata folder btw. Just me being silly - forgot to set view hidden files on

Wow. I can't thank you enough ARTS!
After you said that it didn't find you files, but it could find your folder, it hit me, the problem was in that when it populated the file list, it only looked for files with their directory starting in C. I set it to look for any letter, and it should work for everyone now!
Hopefuly, anyway. So here is Version 1.4. It also has a more indepth Verify Game Cache utility now too.
Please test.
Works brilliantly! Well done and thank you![]()
