Default Having an issue installing patch 1.5 to M2 Kingdoms.

    Hey there,
So, here what happens when I try to install the patch to Kingdoms. I download all the files, then extract them to a temporary folder then run .exe and everything seems to be running smoothly. It starts to install but then it freezes on one particular file then an error message shows up saying that there is a missing/modified file and that I should try to re-install Kingdoms and patch it up again. I have tried what it said to do but still the same effect and it's quite frustrating any help would be greatly appreciated!

It's not a gold edition, I downloaded the patch from Gameshadow.com, I never modded the files, my OS is Windows Xp, and I bought the expansion pack from Gamestop.

What file is the install hanging on? Can you post the error message so that we can figure out what the problem is? Thanks for your answers!

Error : invalid or missing target C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\americas\packs\localized.pack
Failed to update Medieval II Total War: Americas, please apply this update again.

If the problem persists or you have modified the game files in any way, please try the following steps:
-Uninstall Medieval II Total War: Americas.
-Delete the C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\americas's folder.
-Reinstall Medieval II Total War: Americas.
-Apply the Medieval II Total War: Kingdoms update.

then it would ask if I wish to continue the installation but then it would say the same thing but instead of Americas it would say one of the other campaign games.

Ok, next question - did you buy the physical disc at Gamestop or is it a digital download? If it's a digital download I'd expect it to patch itself - that shouldn't be too much to ask.

Can you run any of the Kingdoms Campaigns? If you can could you run it, go into the Options menu off of the Main Menu and look for the version number in the upper corner? Thanks!

I bought the CD's from Gamestop and I can run all the campaigns normally so the version is 1.04.

Did you download the non-gold version?

Going back to when the patch was released, the localized error was thrown because of wrong language or gold/non-gold issues, and after that a usually bad download or you have something installed Securom flagged.
I think I went through three different sites before I got a good US non-gold one. It's now burnt to cd.

So, where can I find the non-gold patch?

Try here. Official SEGA West site. The old TotalWar URL no longer seems to have a link to the mirror list for M2. Good luck!
