Default game crashes while attempting to load a saved campaign game.

The game itself runs fine in custom battle mode. What I'm unable to do, however, is load my saved games and also initiate a new campaign. attemting to load a saved game results in a CTD after loading starts. trying to start a new campaign resulted in a CTD immediately after clicking on the -> arrow. I'm validating the installation as I write this, but it will be of limited help, since I'm using a 1.2EB with BI, Sinuhe's formations, MC's formation buttons and I have tweaked my EDU extensively, as well as the AI factions settings for more challenging play(basically "let's all hate ze Romans and not squabble among ourselves so much). That didn't work out really well but that's not the point of this topic . The thing which may be the real cause for the CTDs is the fact that I messed up the trait doc, especially the requirements for the reformator trait, to conform with the background script. What I tried to do was lower the requirements for settlements for the marian reforms and maybe make it easier for the character I had in mind to become a reformator. Now I'm stuck with an unplayable campaign that has consumed more than 8 months of my time - I don't autoresolve land battles and I have been fighting AS stacks since 229 BC(most of the times 3-5 battles per year and it's 157 BC at last check), gaining 5 triumphs, more heroic victories than I can remember and an entire stack of 3-6 silver and 1-2 golden chevron units(most of them composed of mercenaries, so it's not really easy to cheat-retrain on that).

I think my chief stupidity lies in the execution of the attempted changes: I did this as a form of relaxation during my studying periods for a maths exam and I clearly remember NOT backing up the traits or the background script documents. Even though I eventually found a copy of the EBBS script and returned the traits to default to the best of my knowledge and ability, the campaign refuses to start. As a final note, I have observed a marked increase of the loading speed of EB, which to me suggests that something is not really loading. I don't know what to do at the moment, except for grabbing locks of hair in dispair, procuring ash for use of powdering said locks, calling for help and a default export_descr_character_traits.txt and a EBBS script, or as a final option, contemplating a solution of hemlock; Would reinstalling everything and then using the saves help? I really don't want to start another campaign, since, well, I've achieved so much and I love my double gold thracian peltastas(these guys tear through the rear of a phalanx like a power drill through strawberry jam).

Some files are not save-game compatible to change, meaning I try your save but honestly, after so much changes, it will probably crash at my build too....
Reinstalling would be my first advice too, just move your current EB folder to a save location (if you didn't made any more changes to vanilla) and simply install EB fom scratch.

PS:I'll check your save at Tuesday, no access to my disks until then.

As expected, your save doesn't load either on RTW nor on BI...my advice would be to either make a complete re-installation and afterwards move your changed files into the new and clean build but keeping this time backups. You should also not use notepad from Microsoft to change the text files, better is notepad++.
If you just want to replace your changed files with clean ones, install EB without extras into a new folder and move+overwrite your current build or identify the changed files by hand.
