At Wit's End - Please Help
I'm very new. I know nothing about modding. Maybe it's because I'm computer-illiterate, but every time I do try to mod, it doesn't do anything to my mod. It's very frustrating when do all the work and I have nothing to show for it. And until I learn how to create units of my own, this is a list of how I would like to change a grand campaign in m2tw vanilla. If anyone could walk me through step by step, explicitly. Not assuming I know anything. I don't care if you type to me like I'm a primitive villager who just crawled out of the forest (within reason).
I want to:
-Add Ireland and Wales from Kingdoms at Dublin and Caernavon respectively.
-Create Celtic Christianity for Denmark, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales (I've already created the symbol).
-Remove all kilted units from both Ireland and Scotland.
-Replace Scottish kilted units with Irish armored infantry and for the light infantry component, import Sword Militia and Almuvagars from the Portuguese roster and Ceithrne from the Irish roster.
-Enable recruiting units in foreign provinces you occupy.
-Apply a revised list of names for Scotland and Ireland (I've already compiled the names).
-Add the characteristics of Blood, Broads, and Bastards.
On a separate note, I'd like to take the above mod and make a separate mod making a couple more changes:
-Change Portugal to Gaelic Portugal
-Change Portuguese culture from Southern European to Northern European.
-Add the previously created Celtic Christianity as their religion.
-Apply revised list of names mentioned above.
-Although I have been told a couple of times that it's impossible, I would like to create a second college of cardinals (I know it's probably not even doable), if some one knows how, please let me know.
-Lastly, add the following backstory:
House Moireabh (Moray) are no strangers to tragedy and dislocation. In 1053 the young King Lulach was slain by assassins sent by House Dunkeld, to make way for their own Malcolm III. Malcolm being a man with scant loyalties to his own people and little respect for the Gaelic customs or culture, something which the Moireabh hold very dear. took a Norman bride being the first ri Alban (King of Alba) to do so. This would eventually lead to the near entire Normanization of the Scottish royalty. The insuing years brought conflict, violation, murder, and seizure of the lands of the Moireabh to the extent that Máel Snechtai, then Mormaer (Great Steward) of Moireabh, sent word to his friends and relatives in Éire (Ireland) and his allies in Wales offering royal families lands in Scotland, should they help him repel Malcolm’s consolidation. Irish and Welsh support was not enough.
Beaten and bloodied, the house looked abroad for a friendly kingdom and they found one such kingdom in Castile and Leon then under the rule of Ferdinand I. Ferdinand’s uncle having been a victim of assassination by a rival faction himself, had sympathy for the Scottish refugees, and their Irish and Welsh supporters. They were given a place in court and a few lands principally in Galicia and a region known as “Portcale“, when Ferdinand achieved status as Emperador de España.
This toleration of the Moireabh was extensive. They were allowed to continue speaking Gaelic as long as they learned Castilian Spanish in order to function at court. Ferdinand’s death in 1065 ushered in his middle son Alfonso VI as King of León. After a tragic betrothal in which his fiancee died, the beautiful Sine nic Artagan of House Moireabh was introduced to the King.
Alfonso was smitten by her charm, her beauty, and was impressed by her poetic use of Castilian Spanish. They were married in 1068, effectively blocking the planned courtship of Agnes of Aquitaine, whose introduction had been due the next year.
In her years as queen, Sine encouraged all the court to learn her Highland Gaelic language and oversaw the education of those who took up the endeavor. In 1071 Sine bore Alfonso a daughter they named Caitlin who was the spitting image of her mother. Alfonso was so elated because of the birth of his child that in 1075 he declares that Galicia adopt the Highland Brehon law and that all Christians of noble birth there learn Gaelic.
In 1077 Alfonso declares himself Emperador de todas las Españas. Alfonso has a second daughter in 1081, named Fionnghualla. Alfonso along with the Christian forces in Iberia lose to the Moor Yusuf ibn Tashfin at the Battle of az-Zallaqah in Southern Leon in 1086. However fortune sided with Alfonso as ibn Tashfin had to return to his holdings in North Africa due to internal strife in his kingdom. Desiring cross-Pyrenees alliances, Alfonso gave his daughter, Caitlin nic Fearghus nan Portaing to Raymond of Burgundy in 1091, along with Galicia which included the County of Portugal. Fionnghualla was married to Raymond’s cousin, Henry of Burgundy three years later.
After making a territorial agreement with Henry, ensuring that he would keep Portugal in the event of Alfonso’s death, King Alfonso the VI of Castile grants Raymond of Burgundy autonomy in Portugal that same year in 1094. In 1095 the 2nd County of Portugal is established by Henry of Burgundy after his cousin was disinherited resulting in his receipt of the soon to be County. Henry Count of Portugal dies in 1112 leaving a 25 year old wife, Fionnghualla Countess of Portugal. House Moireabh sees this as their chance to seize the county for themselves, Fionnghualla of Portugal was then married to Alastair mac Somhairle in 1113.
Wanting to keep the peace with their former Spanish hosts, Alastair creates a new title. ‘Rì’ (“chief”) of Gaelic Portugal, though maintaining the hopes of attaining a larger independence. Such an independent kingdom could channel its resources into helping the Moireabh back in the Highlands. Whatever Alastair does, he must take care that the Moors are a formidable enemy, the Spanish monarchs are prone to backstabbing, and most importantly the longer he lingers in Gaelic Portugal, the tighter grip the Normans of England and Scotland will have. There are also disgruntled murmurs of Gaelic resurgence in Éire and there is only recently a successful Welsh backlash in Cymru. Perhaps if the Moireabh grow powerful enough, we might offer them a place in House Moireabh. Additionally it is no secret that the combined explorative nature of both the Celtic Moreibh and their Lusitanian subjects has resulted in a royal court full of naval experience. In short, “waste not.” Whatever course Alastair takes his newly acquired kingdom, it will take wisdom, strength, frugality, and a little luck him to achieve greatness as Chief of Gaelic Portugal, the smallest faction on the Peninsula.

Re: At Wit's End - Please Help
I installed one using the modfile installer on this site, but it won't let me open it to see if it's even a functional game without me messing with it.
