Sounds awsome, can't wait for it![]()
And Darkness and Despair and The Red Death held illimitable dominion over all.
RTW or BI?
Sounds awesome. I made my own mini-mod for Rome, basicly just gave the britons all the units in the game, but not used. That included several archers, another woad warrior unit, different peasants, naked warriors, etc. And chariots suck, so I gave them druid cavalry instead.
I cant put in a lot of time, busy with school. But if you want, I will send you the files for that.
Probably RTW, because there would be no real advantage to using BI that I can think of (if u have any please feel free to post them). In regards to sending me ur units, I will definatly get back to you. I'm doing the research now and will contact u after I solidify who the factions will be and what units they are going to need. Good luck with your project, it looks more doable than every new total conversion projects that we see every two weeks (Nothing personal against any project, just bored of the situtation). Do you plan a historic mod or less restrictive for more imagination and fantasy ?
"They do not possess the true fire. They speak of creation and they boast of their potential but they do not create anything beyond the mundane. Their imagination is poor, obsessed with the small details. A true Dreamer, I say, creates a grand scheme and then concentrates on the details. Starting with the details is for the ants of the imagination - the small insects who aspire only to be fed.”

Good luck with the mod
Heres a little tip with organisation: try to start communicating with other mods. It will help no end in getting advice, research that mirrors your own, and many other things.

I am going to try and make this mod as realistic as possible. For instance, true, the british tribes were frenzied and determined in battle, but they were not much of a match for the Romans because of a lack of orginization and tactics. I will try to project this reality into the mod. The question remains "how?" but I'm sure I'll figure something out (sugestions are very welcome).
Presently I'm creating a campaign map that includes all of England, Scotland, and Wales, and then also includes the North Eastern portion of Ireland and the Northern tip of Gaul. I am also researching and trying to figure out which tribes to include in the mod (there were so many). I listed a couple of "possibles" a few posts up from this one, but I'm still trying to figure out which ones were the most "influential" and would make interesting factions. Some are definates though. I can say for sure that these factions WILL be in the mod (they were very big players in Roman Britain):
- The Iceni (Boudicca was from the Iceni tribe)
- The Brigantes (A very warlike tribe from the midlands)
- The Caledonians (a pictish tribe)
- The Belgae (a Belgic tribe directly related to the Belgae in Gaul)
- The Scotii (the irish)
- The Romans
The other tribes I had previously mentioned may or may not be factions, or they may be combined with other, more "insignificant" but similar tribes to form a more usable faction. If anybody has any questions or suggestions please feel free to post![]()

Sounds like a great mod. When RTR took out britannia I was crushed. I plan to move to Enlgand and study in Oxford after highschool so I have a certain liking for british history.

Ask Ranika to help, he is THE celtic specialist.
Maybe you can use our map :

And then just change the provinces.
Thanks Agraes, I will take that into consideration. My campaign map has a lot less of Gaul than you have in yours, and I only have half of Ireland. I did this because the main interaction between Ireland and Britain occured with the North and Eastern tribes of Ireland, and this mod is focusing on Britannia and the Roman invasion of it. But, i must say it would be nice to have a fuller map. We'll see. Thanks again.

How big is this map compared to the vanilla map?

In answer to your question LordSaradin: I did plan to make those seperate provinces, and the size of this map is just about equal to the vanilla map.Originally Posted by LordSaradin

I know someone who made a map of Britain not far from yours too, just PM him : Professor S on Imperium TW forums. His map only lacks the provinces, it's complete for the rest.
I am presently recruiting for this mod, is anybody interested in joining? I need skinners, scriptors, historians, and PR guys... if you are interested just state your relevant skills and I'll contact you.
thanks
