Default Bush joins McCain in supporting Anti-Torture bill.

I like it. Torture is stupid and also does not yield truthful response so it is pointless. No point in not supporting an issue like this.

    Already being discussed.

    Yes, already being discussed.
But it changes nothing because the CIA hires forreigners to do the actual torture for them.

Sorry, I tried to start a new thread because I assumed the rice thread was still based on Rice's comments...

Hey, I aint bustin' your chops Farnan. Just lettin ya know we are going at in there, and why I posted it in there rather than a new thread.

(The Rice thread is about torture by default)

I don't think there's harm in having both threads. They aren't really about the same thing, after all.

I think it's good that bush finally came around, even though it's only for poll numbers that he hopes to gain.

Alameda we all know that if you ask a politician a tough question they will avoid it.

Who said he was interviewing Politicians?

Do watch The Factor? Politicians make up maybe 2% of his interviews.

Because reporters let them. If you put me in O'Reilly's seat during an interview of a politician, I would make them answer, the only way someone can get out of answering is if the questioner allows them to, and every single reporter does.

This is one arena where I am going to have to concede and give Bush a little bit of credit. That credit is tempered, however, by the fact that he and Cheney even dared to go against the McCain bill in the first place. But given the fact that he usually is bullheaded and stupidly obstinate in most cases, I will give him credit for conceding to something he really never should have fought to begin with.

Ah, yet another reason to love John McCain. If he doesn't run in '08 I'll be seriously disappointed.

I really don't think that this bill really changes anything though. If the government decides to torture certain people for whatever reasons they will do so regardless of what the law says.

I apologize, but it doesnt change a thing you can substitute politicians with anyone. People dont want to answer tough questions, expecially on TV

edit: I don't watch TV that much and when I do its documentaries or movies

I just thought of an odd ticket that would reap alot of votes. Don't jump on my here Rush and Oldgamer, et al...it's just a brain fart.

    McCain/Leiberman '08.

I would be very, very, very tempted.

Agreed. I just wish Bill was one of them, like I orginally said.

    @Rush, Mark Levine rawks!
But on this, I must beg to differ.

I've never, in any memory I have, seen a journalist adequately question a politician.

McCain has just dealt Bush a major defeat on torture. Major respect points for McCain, he never backed down or compromised with the Bush Administration and with Congress's help, Bush folded. At least I know now that Congress is somewhat useful at the moment.
