Default Elite units from the start in campaign?

Does anybody know how to make elite units available from the beginning in the campaign? I really love tatw but I haven't played many campaigns yet because you always have to wait 50 turns or so to be able to field elite troops (=the troops shown in the movies). I understand very well why they made it this way, it's much more realistic, but it would be nice if I could change this for my own use in certain campaigns.

I think you should be able to do this by changing something in all the txt-files or whatever but I really have no clue which one, and how.

    any help appreciated!

Should've used the search but check out Baron Samedi's compilation of sub mods . There's a sub mod that makes them all available from the start . Have fun

That doesn't need so much scripting knowledge. You can read how to do it in the FAQ.

You can also easily do it by editing the descr_start.

Even if you delete all the barracks events from the game, you still won't have access to all the elite-units at the start of your campaign, since most of them are only available for recruitment if you have build more advanced barracks. One simple example: Eldar Swordsmen for High Elves. These units are recruitable once you have built a militia drill square. This building can only be finished after max. 18 turns (once you have built a town watch, town guard & city watch, I am not even talking about upgrading your settlement, but you get my point).

With descr_strat you can only change your starting armies & generals not how you can recruit your units (this is done via export_descr_buildings.txt).

Yes you can, you can change the starting buildings in every settlement, adding elite barracks to make elite units recruitable from beginning.

Or i mentioned the wrong file? There is a file where there are all settlements listed: there you can add elite barracks.
